Story
The French Revolution casts a long shadow, one that reaches into our own time and influences our debates on freedom, equality, and authority. Yet it remains an elusive, perplexing historical event. Its significance morphs according to the sympathies of the viewer, who may see it as a series of gory tableaux, a regrettable slide into uncontrolled anarchy - or a radical reshaping of the political landscape. In this riveting new book, Ian Davidson provides a fresh look at this vital moment in European history. He reveals how it was an immensely complicated and multifaceted revolution....

I can't blame the reader for this poor rating... it was only my own stubbornness and long car trips that allowed me to finish it. The chain of people, events and French language phrases were mind numbing.

Churchill's epic series begins in 1911, when Churchill was First Lord of the Admiralty, and opens with a chilling description of the Agadir Crisis and an in-depth account of naval clashes in the Dardanelles - one of Churchill's major military failures. It takes listeners from the fierce bloodshed of the Gallipoli campaign to the tragic sinking of the Lusitania and the tide-turning battles of Jutland and Verdun - as well as the USA's entry into the combat theater. The World Crisis provides a perspective you won't find anywhere else.

this can be a bit dry compared to some of the other books written by Winston Churchill. I also didn't like the reader as much in this one as it was hard to "Hear" Churchill with such a deep voice.

I found Sir Winston's retrospective on his early life quite funny, in the manner in which he told it, recounting early reading troubles, the lack of parental attention and his complete dismissal of maths. his time as a reporter and officer was interesting, though with little historical knowledge of the Boers War(s) I had difficulty staying engaged. highly recommended! great vocal performance!

Tried too hard, yet couldn't seem to recreate any of the original magic and awe of Ready Player One. The author did have an idea of what the next step would be in digital human evolution but it just seemed contrived, the path to get there, the ending that sets up? something more?

The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

I didn't have the emotional investment like I did in book one and two. I don't know if it was because of the author trying to close the story off cleanly, or if because of the vast number of Bob's, I couldn't keep track anymore.

Story
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.
