Story
Ever since my daughter Isa was born, I’ve been struggling. I can’t remember anything, and my brain is in a fog. So when my husband Ned suggests we hire a night nanny, I leap at the chance. As soon as she walks into our home, I feel a wave of relief. I smile at her and notice her eyes are the color of amethysts. A memory flashes across my brain, but before I can grasp it, it’s gone. But something isn’t right. Ned is acting strangely and every time I ask him why, he tells me I’m being paranoid.

Meh….

I felt that none of the characters were likable. And if I heard the words, “my baby”, one more time, I would’ve vomited. All in all, it was very far fetched.

I normally love this author, so I continued listening, waiting for the suspense, the twist, something. It was like a teenage romance novel. Nothing more. Waste of a credit.

Slowwwww and confusing initially
Reviewed: 06-01-24
Well, the last like 25% was good, aside from the abrupt ending. There were so many plot holes. Initially, the listener has no idea which character is speaking, and it becomes frustrating and confusing. You finally get the hang of the way it reads, however it is very monotonous for the largest part of the book. Overall. Not worth the credit.

I mean.. am I the only one that figured out the plot in the first few pages…? Yes, the “killer” surprised me, but, the affair did not. The narrator speaking in a baby voice for “Lilly” ground on my last nerve. Not the best book, and the narration… ughhh
