Story
I’m obsessed with the game. I spend so many hours playing that I dream about dangerous missions on other worlds...and my gorgeous in-game training partner, Kassius. That is, until I win. I beat Starfighter Training Academy. But is it a game? Or alien software designed to recruit new, unsuspecting soldiers for a war in another star system? Because when my hot-as-heck alien shows up at my workplace demanding I leave Earth and travel to the Vega system? What?

One of the best in the series!

This has all the good things that you’ve loved about other characters from this universe. We hear names mentioned that or familiar with revisit characters that we’ve seen before or will be seen again later in the series. But somehow the characters seem more well-rounded in this book and more well-developed, enjoy listening to this one all in one day.

Too much for me
Reviewed: 04-11-24
Sometimes to enjoy a novel or a movie, we have to be able to suspend reality in our minds and go with the fantasy. This one just called upon me to make too much suspension of reality to enjoy it, and I never was able to really enjoy or identify with the heroine in this circumstance. It was just not set up in such a way that I could suspend reality and enjoy the book.

Engaging characters!
Reviewed: 02-27-24
I bought into the stories of these main characters this seems like people that I was gradually getting to know, and who’s life I became invested in. I wanted to finish the book and know what happened to them, so yes, I found myself reading (listening) for several hours straight so that I could hear the whole thing. The characters had logical flaws that made them seem so much more relatable. Enjoyable storylines, And a good narrator, make for a wonderful, engaging, read,

This story had me in tears at points, laughing at others. And enjoying the romance throughout. Normally, I prefer not to cry during my romances however, this was so well written that I’m really glad I chose to walk through the experience with the heroine. This is a not to be missed experience.

Winnifred Gobaldi and Byron Visser are not best friends. Yes, they’ve known each other for years, but they’re not even friendly. Winnie considers them more like casual, distant acquaintances who find each other barely tolerable, especially when he's being condescending (which is all the time).

Story
After a scandalous secret turns their fairytale wedding into a nightmare, Rebecca "Bex" Porter and her husband Prince Nicholas are in self-imposed exile. The public is angry. The Queen is even angrier. And the press is salivating. Cutting themselves off from friends and family, and escaping the world's judgmental eyes, feels like the best way to protect their fragile, all-consuming romance.

This book shows how the wold was indeed blessed by his having renounced the throne and what a sad and pointless existence he and Wallis lived the rest of their lives. A very sad tale indeed. Well documented and well written. Worth the read.
