Story
Two o'clock was missing. In an alternate Victorian world controlled by clock towers, a damaged clock can fracture time - and a destroyed one can stop it completely. It's a truth that 17-year-old clock mechanic Danny Hart knows all too well; his father has been trapped in a Stopped town east of London for three years. Though Danny is a prodigy who can repair not only clockwork but the very fabric of time, his fixation with staging a rescue is quickly becoming a concern to his superiors.

a gay mechanic boy main character, who is tough and fearless. a great Idea for a story. good characters, no deep, but enough for a simple story. well read and well written. it's not "the sun also rises" but a good fun listen.

Story
In this now-classic thriller, he and fellow author J. Frederick George tell a shocking tale with an all-too plausible premise. There's no way William A. Cozzano can lose the upcoming presidential election. He's a likable midwestern governor with one insidious advantage - an advantage provided by a shadowy group of backers.

Story
Neal Stephenson, "the hottest science fiction writer in America", takes science fiction to dazzling new levels. The Diamond Age is a stunning tale; set in 21st-century Shanghai, it is the story of what happens what a state-of-the-art interactive device falls into the hands of a street urchin named Nell. Her life, and the entire future of humanity, is about to be decoded and reprogrammed.

great book, dont believe the reviews
Reviewed: 07-03-20
I dont understand the reviews mentioning the unnecessary and inappropriate sex, poor audio quality and disapointing second half. The audio is good, well read, the sex is vague and non explicit and necessary to the plot and the second half completes the first. Its a good story interesting characters, what you would expect from a Neil Stephenson book. Its up there with my favorites.
I doubt you will be disappointed.

Truly terrible series. Loved it. Listened twice!

. Enjoyed every word. Sorry when it ended. I have listened to this twice, better the second time. Lots of irony. Know one wins, or is happy, constant death war suffering and treachery. The main characters are terrible people. But its a great existential tale. Nine fingers accepts who he is and what he has done but that doesnt change things you have got to be realistic. Say one things for Nine Fingers, he's a realist. I recommend this as a great story with very good characters who evolve as the story does. Sure its got a wizard in it and some magic but it could easily be a Hillary Mantel book.King Henry and Glokta would get along famously.

Just about every human being knows how to listen to music, but what does it take to make music? Is musicality something we are born with? Or a skill that anyone can develop at any time? If you don't start piano at the age of six, is there any hope? Is skill learning best left to children or can anyone reinvent him-or herself at any time?
