Story
My new stepbrother is insufferable. You'd think it wouldn't matter since I won't be here for long, but this guy gets under my skin like no one ever has. All-American, baby-faced, blue-eyed band dork and star soccer player. Everything about him is the picture of perfection—unlike me. I don't think Do Gooder knows I'm starting senior year late. And he definitely doesn't know why. I've got secrets I'm taking with me to the grave.

F* broke me
Reviewed: 03-26-23
I confess that I'm not typically one to write reviews, but this book broke me in ways I couldn't have anticipated. I consider myself a fairly stoic person, one who's never been brought to tears by a sad movie or book, but this story managed to do just that. It was emotionally gut-wrenching, leaving me feeling sick and unable to continue at certain points.
When a book has the ability to elicit such strong emotions from the reader, you know it's a truly exceptional work. The author's writing and storytelling were so skillfully executed that it tugged at the very fabric of my being. The world-building was so vivid and realistic that I found myself needing to take breaks to preserve my own sanity.
This book is nothing short of a masterpiece, and I urge anyone who enjoys a story that can truly move you to pick it up and read it. The emotions that it evokes are real, raw, and deeply felt, and I am grateful for the experience of having read it.

Story
After losing the only person he ever cared about, Alexander, a rogue artificial intelligence, opens a portal to an alternate dimension to escape his grief. Scanning trillions of different dimensions, Alexander finally finds a world that is reminiscent of the only time he was ever happy, back when he could play virtual reality games with his only friend. Only this new world isn't full of idyllic adventures and fantasy roleplaying. Instead, Alexander finds himself trapped in the middle of a city where monsters have ravaged the world and the only people alive struggle to survive.

One of the best books I have ever listened to! I was so hesitant unsure if I would be able to relate to an AI in a meaningful way but this book proved me wrong and the deeper underlying meaning of trust is touching in many ways. Thank you for this, Mathews. .

Ruwen survived Legion’s Fifth Vault with devastating consequences. His escape flung him far from home, severing his connection to Uru. Even his Void Band, with its link to the Black Pyramid, no longer works. Isolated, with no obvious path back, he must learn new skills or die here. For the first time, Ruwen can access his Core without worrying about discovery, and the work started in the Spirit Realm creating spells can finally continue. But that alone will not be enough, and he carefully explores the power of the mysterious Architect Role passed to him by the Goddess Uru.

I dislike the extra effort it takes to write a review, but I must leave this word "masterful".

Story
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

I can't grasp why some people are complaining about this. This book is fantastic and has little to do with the original series. This is a different stand-alone storyline with similar world rebuilding.
