Story
David Lauriston has been recuperating at Lord Murdo Balfour’s Laverock estate for the last five months. At Laverock, he has regained his health and confidence and has found - with Murdo - more happiness and contentment than he has never known before. David is all too aware that some day soon he will have to leave Laverock - and Murdo - and return to his legal practice in Edinburgh, just as Murdo will have to return to his life in London.

I absolutely love and adore this series! I have read it many times, but I have to say that the audiobooks just added to my enjoyment even more. Hamish Mackinlay's Scottish and English accents were so perfect and beautiful. The tender moments between Murdo and David literally had me in tears. If you love historical romances, this series is for you!

Story
David and Murdo’s last parting was painful - and on Murdo’s part, bitter - but Murdo’s feelings seem to have mellowed in the intervening years. So much so that he suggests to David that they enjoy each other’s company during Murdo’s stay in the capital. Despite his initial reservations, David cannot put Murdo’s proposal from his mind, and soon find himself at Murdo’s door - and in his arms.

Story
David Lauriston is struggling to build his reputation in Edinburgh's privileged legal world. His humble origins are enough of a hurdle, never mind his recent decision to defend a group accused of treason, prompting speculation that he may harbour radical sympathies. David's personal life is no more successful. Tormented by his forbidden desires for other men, David tries to live a celibate existence. But then into David's repressed and orderly world bursts Lord Murdo Balfour. Cynical, hedonistic, and utterly unapologetic, Murdo could not be less like David.

A favorite series brought to life!
Reviewed: 04-19-18
This series is one of my favorite series of all time. I have read it countless times and I was thrilled when the audiobooks were released. I was a little worried as Hamish McKinlay is a new to me narrator, but his narration was so good. His Scottish accents were beautiful and he had a wonderful voice for Murdo. I absolutely adore Murdo and David. David's journey from self loathing to acceptance makes this whole series worth reading. Moving onto Beguiled immediately!

Love Jake and Adrien!
Reviewed: 12-16-17
Am I disappointed that Chris Patton was unable to do this audiobook? Absolutely! However I think that Kale Williams did a fine job representing Adrien and the other characters. My main disappointment was his Jake. It was not distinctive or gruff enough. This book is an utter delight for Jake and Adrien fans though and the audiobook did not take anything away from my enjoyment of the story!

Visiting a wealthy friend during university holiday, Stephen wakes to find his bed invaded by a late arriving, drunken houseguest stumbling into the wrong room. From this dubious beginning, a romance slowly develops. At first Lord Peter Northrup is only interested in the young man as a lusty diversion. He tutors him in secret pleasures shared by men like them, intending to keep their special liaison brief, light, and temporary. But after Northrup leaves, he can't forget the young man who managed to touch his jaded heart.

A very good audiobook from a new to me narrator. He does differentiate the accents so it is easy to tell who is speaking.
I love Dee and Devon's historical novels and this one was very enjoyable.

Story
Lodging-house keeper Clem Talleyfer prefers a quiet life. He's happy with his hobbies, his work - and especially with his lodger Rowley Green, who becomes a friend over their long fireside evenings together. If only neat, precise, irresistible Mr. Green were interested in more than friendship. Rowley just wants to be left alone - at least until he meets Clem, with his odd, charming ways and his glorious eyes. Two quiet men, lodging in the same house, coming to an understanding...it could be perfect.

I adore KJ Charles and this is the start of what promises to be another winner. I really enjoyed Rowley and Clem's relationship development and the mystery was well done too. I know that Ms Charles can pull off an amazing trilogy (see Society of Gentleman) so I am looking forward to devouring the rest of the series this weekend.
Matthew Lloyd Davies is one of my favorite British narrators and he does a wonderful job, although he does use similar voices to the Gentleman series.

The Mermaid Murders was my favorite book of 2016 and I was so happy to read this new chapter in Jason and Sam's story.
I really identified with Jason's struggle to understand what was going on with Sam. His hurt and bewilderment were painful to read, but Sam eventually came through and the ending was perfect! The mystery was well done and had me guessing until the end.
This was definitely a 5 star book and I loved the audio version too!

Do you believe in love at first sight? Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.
