Story
In the tradition of the late, great George Carlin, Corey Taylor, the lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, sounds off in hilarious fashion about the many vagaries of modern life that piss him off. Whether it's people's rude behavior in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and - most of all - the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor's humor and insight cover civil society's seeming decline.

As dull as the things he's complaining about
Reviewed: 06-27-24
He's just trying to justify his narcissism. He tries to sound clever, and fails miserably. And, these incessant attempts to sound clever, while just complaining about the world, needlessly extends the time listening to all this whining.
We're he as intelligent as he pretends to be, he could've wrapped this up much more quickly. Or, he really could've been as clever as he thinks himself to be - though, he isn't.
So, this book is a painful waste of time. I'd prefer listening to "Bother" on repeat for 8 hrs to 2 hours of this book.

Story
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

This isn't James Franco's thing!

I couldn't connect with the story. And, no matter how famous someone is, reading novels should be a complex and beautiful art. It isn't something that I think James Franco is good at - though, is is very talented at many other things.

terrible narration, great information
- By Chadrick A Gibson on 06-29-20
Amateurish narration.
Reviewed: 11-04-20
The narrator stumbles like he needs glasses, and is reading under a very dim light. He's probably misreading the text, too. Returning! No more Clay Willison narrations for me, please.

Some mistakes weren't edited out. Narrator stumbles a few times. Errors and corrections, along with the phrase "Take two", still present.
