Such a great story with wonderful narration. It was short and sweet but really packed a punch.

The book starts off slower than I had expected. There were moments of cringe, like I expect in a dark romance, even a comedic one, and there were moments of laughter. Honestly, though, I think more of the laughter was due to the male narrator’s delivery than the writing. I enjoyed the book, until the unnecessarily long and wholly forgettable epilogue. Thankfully, the narrators brought their A game!

The story held together fairly well, but there were parts that dragged. Still, it was an enjoyable read.

This was definitely story of the series. I’m so glad the narrators continued on throughout because it made the transitions smooth and allowed the story to take center stage. In this case, it worked out perfectly!

While I’ll admit there were elements of this book that weren’t my thing and tropes that I don’t generally like. I might have even skipped out on it because of them, but the author pulled me in with the way she authentically portrayed the MMCs addiction without the judgment that often underpins these portrayals. It was well done.

While these stories are interconnected standalones, I highly recommend reading book 3 before reading book 4. It will make the pay off of book four even better.

There were some moments/details in the story that threw me off enough to pull me out of the story, but overall, I enjoyed it and will continue the series.

There were parts I really enjoyed and parts didn’t. Normally, the narration could help tip a book more into the positive, but I spent half the book disliking the male narration. The timing and cadence were way off and distracting.
