Favorite Pride & Prejudice variation for sure! I really enjoyed this book. The angst revolved around outside dangers they faced together vs. misunderstanding between themselves. Much prefer this type of P&P variation.

Story
Sparks fly when Miss Elizabeth Bennet takes work as a governess at Pemberley. Will deceptions, highwaymen, and a rambunctious eleven-year-old girl bring Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy together or tear them apart? After rejecting Mr. Collins proposal, Miss Elizabeth Bennet assumes the persona of a widow and goes to Lambton to find work. But when she befriends Mr. Darcy's half-sister Rose and becomes her governess, she must contend with Mr. Darcy, a man she wishes to despise, and Col. Excellent story!

Really enjoyed the story in spite of the virtual voice narration, which truly never conveys the emotions of the characters and situations and is therefore always disappointing especially when the story is so great. It makes me sad because audio books are so convenient for multi-tasking so I listen to the ones that have virtual voice narration anyway KNOWING they will disappoint because I don’t have time to sit down and read the story. In this case I will have to actually READ the book because it was so good and I want to experience it with all the appropriate emotions especially for Darcy and Elizabeth!!!! Besides I always read/ listen to great books over and over again. I just wish I could get Stevie Zimmerman or another great narrator to re-do this story then I could listen over and over vs. re-reading!!!

Story
Rather than protect their daughter like any good parent should, first Fanny and then Thomas Bennet push their sixteen-year-old daughter Elizabeth into a marriage with a much older man who happens to be a duke. Fanny is seduced by the fact he is a duke, even if he is not interested in Jane, something she cannot believe at first, and his willingness to dower her remaining four daughters. For Bennet, when the Duke offers to break the entail on Longbourn after a certain condition is met, his half-hearted opposition to the match dissipates.

Story
For twenty years Elizabeth Bennet had lived, quite contentedly, as the second daughter of a country squire. During her Easter visit to her newly married friend, Lizzy has the dubious pleasure of being introduced to Lady Catherine de Bourgh and her cosseted daughter. To Elizabeth’s surprise, the pair take a keen interest in a mere adopted daughter of the Bennet family, and when Mr. Darcy dutifully pays his annual visit to Rosings Park, her life takes a wholly unexpected turn.

Story
Mr. Darcy has finally accepted that he wishes only for Elizabeth, and when they meet at Pemberley, he speaks plainly of his devotion. Despite their uncertain future, he is determined to assist the Bennet family – surely no young lady, however foolish, deserves to be Mrs. Wickham. And Darcy has a plan. Jane falls prey to bewilderment and anger as Bingley returns to Hertfordshire. He hopes to renew their courtship, but Jane’s world was shaken by his departure and the cruelty of his sisters, and her views of those around her have changed considerably.

Story
Gravel-voiced Gibson Bodine takes his lone wolf image seriously. His one love - besides starting a good brawl - is sitting on a rinky-dink stage in a backwoods bar playing guitar and singing about things he’ll never have. When a video of him playing goes viral, Gibson ignores the unwanted attention. He’s got bigger things to worry about. Like the bomb his half-brother’s mom just dropped on him. And the fallout from the memento he’s been carrying around for 13 years. But one night in a bar, 50 miles from home, he meets her. And she changes everything.

Story
It's nearly Christmas, Julia Devine's favourite time of the year. She's just programmed a wonderful lead into the holidays at Sunny Street Cinema, which leaves her plenty of time to worry about going home to Cumbria for Christmas. Her mum and stepdad are fine, but the thought of spending another holiday with her awful stepsister Becca is enough to make a Scrooge out of anyone. When Becca calls to let her know about the dreamy pilot she's bringing to Christmas lunch, Julia finally snaps and does something very silly.

She’s the one girl this player can’t have. A human. I’m dying to claim the redhead who lights up the club every Saturday night. I want to pull her into the storeroom and make her scream, but it wouldn’t be right. She’s too pure. Too fresh. Too passionate. Too human. When she learns my secret, my alpha orders me to wipe her memories. But I won’t do it. Still, I’m not mate material - I can’t mark her and bring her into the pack. What in the hell am I going to do with her?
