I adored the first two books of this series, and was really looking forward to reading this one. I didn't pay attention to the length, so when the story stopped at 3 hours, I thought there had been some sort of glitch or malfunction. Or... maybe I'd gotten the abridged version. I checked and discovered it was a novella, and, yes, only 3 hours long. There was no real story -- just several misunderstandings that didn't amount to much. This story could have been sooo much more. It was as if the author was in a hurry to meet a deadline and she just slapped some words on a page. Because I really enjoyed the first two, I'm willing to try the next book in the series. If it's not any better, then I'm done.

The subplot is a bit confusing, but, other than that, I really loved this book. It's humor had me laughing out loud. Awesome characters.

It wasn't quite what I expected. It was at times sad, depressing, an emotional rollercoaster, and not the ending I expected...or perhaps wanted. It was extremely well written and very realistic. Maybe I shouldn't have read it during the Coronavirus pandemic. But I'm definitely glad I read it, and I definitely recommend it. There are two more books in the series, but I need to digest this one for a little while before I'll be ready to read the next book.

Normally I love Dee Henderson, but this story really didn't have much of a plot, very little romance or tension, and an unresolved ending. Her characters are vivid and sympathetic, but there just wasn't enough plot to get fully invested in the story. And the choose-your-own-ending left me feeling disappointed
it was as if Dee herself had no idea how to end it.

I totally loved the other two stories by Dani Pettrey and Lynette Eason. Lots of conflict, tension, emotion, and plot twists!

I do recommend this audiobook because the last two stories are awesome! And, who knows? You might disagree with me about Dee Henderson's story and love it, too.

A well-written, romantic escape during the Coronavirus quarantine. Loved the magical feel of this story! Now, what on Earth did those two elderly sisters put in their coffee? LOL!

...all in one audiobook! How'd I get so lucky?

Because these are novelas, there's not a lot of space to have anything but fast love-at-first-sight romances while everyone is dodging bullets and bad guys. But I was willing to suspend disbelief and thoroughly enjoy the stories. If you love sweet Christian romantic suspense, then you'll love these stories. ❤️

I enjoyed the story of Colleen Collins, staff writer for a Washington DC paper who lost her job when she wouldn't lie in court as her boss requested. She loses her boyfriend of six years, can't get another DC job, has strained relationship with her parents, then her good friend who is a magazine editor gives her a freelance job in a small town in the Texas hill country. She's there a week and falls in love with the town, the people, and especially Tru.

The characters, both major and minor, are well-drawn and very likeable. The plot is typical sweet romance, which is what I was looking for. I'm a fifth generation Texan, so I'm always drawn to a book about Texas. I've recently read several books that take place in the South, and two of the narrators had trouble with the Southern accent -- so much so that it was actually cringe-worthy. So I was naturally concerned about how this narrator would handle a Texan accent. I'm pleased to say that it didn't bother me a bit.

Great beginning to a new series! I loved the Alaskan series, and I'm expecting this to be as good, if not better. Can't wait for book 2!

Lots of twists and turns in the plot. Nice surprise about the real killer. I really liked Meg, Jillian's daughter. Lots of spunk and sass. My only problem with this character is that she sounds younger than the almost 10 year old girls I know. But that was a very minor thing and didn't mar the story for me at all. I highly recommend not only this novel, but also this whole series! All three books are excellent.
