Story
They are the Lost Legions. Famed warriors in the annals of military history, made famous when they struck out for the stars to fight a Savage invasion ... never to return or be heard from again. Until new evidence is uncovered that a Lost Legion sleeps in the pocked craters of a distant mining world. Sergeant Carson Metzger, a replacement pilot for a Republic HARD HK-PP mech unit, is sent to act as security for the science team seeking to confirm the discovery of the fabled missing legion. But when the local miners object to the arrival of Republic forces, tensions simmer to an all-out boil.

Story fatigue is not what happens in this installment of the Thor storyline. The idea for a pause in this story is a reloading and rearmament. Loved what the writers did with this! Highly recommend. 5 stars across the board.

Satisfying prequel
Reviewed: 09-22-24
For anyone who’s read the Ember War series, the end of the story is known. That said, this story was surprisingly satisfying. There are a couple of parts where I laughed. Because humans at the end will be humans.
It’s classic Ember Wars. Lots of action. Lots of battles. Lots of human moments. The trick to writing a book like this is to not leave the reader bummed out, and it didn’t. I was surprised, considering the large body canon Ember War has, and this story was on point. It’s been years since the first Ember Wars book was written, and there were little details easily forgotten but were not.
Five stars across the board. Luke Daniels, as always narrated this superbly. Highly recommend. Share with friends.

This was a satisfying end of a story. No spoilers, but it had me in the feels.
Action was on point, every fight scene. The character endings were in keeping with the pitch and timbre of the Ember War Universe.
I think the narrator (Garrett Brown) was aces for this storyline. 5 stars across the board.

Story
On the battlefields of the future, death is not the end for a soldier. The Revenant Program collects badly wounded soldiers broken by war and converts them into unthinking, unfeeling cyborg weapons. Their bodies are immune to pain, their minds impervious to fear and doubt. All controlled by a neural implant called the Imperative. They are the ideal force for any mission too deadly or too difficult for normal men. A force that answers to the darkest corners of the military.

Failure is not an option—even if that target is a ten-thousand-year-old undead sorcerer of incredible power surrounded by dark, deadly cabals and savage monsters of myth and fable that are all too real.

Story
Sam Rockwell came home from the Second World War to work as a fledgling private investigator specializing in helping "Returns": recently deceased ghosts who've come back with unfinished business. Short on experience and long on the imitated swagger of the detectives found in his dog-eared collection of pulp fiction P.I. mysteries, the quick-witted Sam waits for his big break - and his chance to win the heart of Amelia, his Girl Friday. But when his no-nonsense father is murdered and becomes a Return himself, everything changes.
