Story
You would think that being forced into a loveless marriage to ensure an alliance would be unheard of in this day and age. And in most cases, you would be correct in that assumption. But not for me. A cartel princess has no vote on who she can or cannot marry—much less love. Any decision in my life was forfeited just by being born into the most powerful Mexican cartel there is.

Very compelling story.
Reviewed: 05-23-24
This story is different from the rest. The characters are better drawn, the story dwells on the internal conflicts between people more than external conflicts.
The five minutes of kidnapping adds nothing to the story and was not needed as the resolution of the story was not delayed nor affected by the effort.
The only negatives in an otherwise very good narration were the moans, yelps, gasps or other non verbal exclamations. They were awful and silly and broke the mood presented by the author’s otherwise effective love scenes.

Good series but not finished in audio
Reviewed: 05-12-24
I enjoyed the series through book four. Though the male narrator falls short in book four from the other books.
In addition, I am truly angry to find there is no audible for book five through seven.
For this reason I cannot recommend or even mention it to my friends.
It has taught me to never buy an audible book without first checking that all books of a series have been made into an audible book.
Very disappointed.

I'm about to marry my worst nightmare, and he doesn't know I have his daughter. Elio Rossi is a dream on paper. He's rich, handsome and head of his family's multi-billion dollar business. He's also a ruthless Mafia Don, and my older brother's best friend. But even that isn't a huge issue to me. No, Elio is my nightmare because he used to be my dream man. We've been betrothed since childhood. But the night of our engagement years ago, our parents died in a tragic accident. One that I'm sure Elio's family planned. Good al but narration
Reviewed: 05-06-24
The story was a good one. Good plot, twists and characterizations.
The virtual voice was awful. No emotions sentences and paragraphs tun into another. Unable to tell who was talking half the time. No emphasis. The lack of human reactions took a lot from the story and all but rendered the live scenes silly and flat.

The murder is oddly bloodless. Called in to consult on the crime scene, Dr. Toni Parthen has no time to puzzle out that peculiarity. A black-clad man who seems more brutal creature than human being stalks out of the night and kidnaps her.

This is the best romance, mystery, fantasy story that also had me roaring with laughter. I will have to listen to it again just for the quips that were so deafly delivered by the narrator.

Emma decided to skip the gym and went home early. It was the last easy decision she made because she found her roommate being raped by her boyfriend. She had two choices: Call the cops and be killed by his family's mafia connections or kill him first and hope to survive. There was no choice to her. She killed the bastard first and went to the one person who could protect her: Carter Reed. He's a weapon

Good story line except the heroine who was too stupid and fainty and an ungrateful crybaby to be believed. A little more back bone and common sense in her would have made it a better story.

This is the last of the series that I will be listening because the narrator, Will Thorne, will not be speaking the next book.
I started the series and was introduced to this writer because I seek books narrated by Will Thorne. The series was most enjoyable and made more so because of the narration.
The next in series will be with a different narrator. I will not be getting it. Foolish to change narrators within a series.
I will move on to another book and series narrated by Will Thorne.

I started this series because I listen to as many books narrated by Will Thorne as I can. The series is very entertaining. But, it is Will Thorne that is superb. I will listen to all in the series up until book seven when Will is no longer the narrator. Foolish choice of the author to continue a series with a new narrator. Very foolish.

Olivia Moreland prides herself on discrediting charlatans, particularly the false mediums that flock to London. But when Lord Stephen St. Leger requests her help in investigating an alleged psychic's claims, she can't deny the ominous feeling she has within the walls of his ancient estate - or the intimately familiar connection she has with Stephen himself. The last time he'd called Blackhope Hall home, Stephen had watched as his elder brother claimed both the family title and the woman he loved.

Stupid heroine who could not grow up.
Reviewed: 04-07-24
Could not finish. The heroine was too stupid.
No matter that the hero was saving her life multiple times while risking his own, going out of his way to escort her to safety for days on end, carrying her, patching up her wounds, stealing clothing and supplies for her, literally feeding her, washing her, comforting her for her losses and holding her close as they slept to keep her warm… plus telling het he thinks she is the most beautiful women he has ever seen, that all other women do not matter to him and making her promise they would not be separated and will stay together always, in spite of that the idiot girl keeps thinking he is trying to use her, just to sleep with her and dump her and that he will sleep around and leave her and that she cannot trust him. Then she starts playing games to make him jealous instead of helping him feel secure in their relationship as he did for her.
Such a fool as she was not with my time.
