Story
For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night. Mercy McAlpine, the manager of the Lodge, is dead. With a vicious storm raging and the one access road to the property washed out, the murderer must be someone on the mountain. But as Will and Sara investigate the McAlpine family and the other guests, they realize that everyone here is lying.

I think this was one of her best books. I have read all of them and listened to the audiobook this time. The readers were great and the story was so good. I am so glad that Sara and Will finally got married and Angie was nowhere to be found. Thank you Karen. I really am disappointed in the Will Trent TV series. After reading about good looking 6ft 3 Will Trent from the books and seeing the actor playing him on tv is a bit disappointing. Crazy Angie is in it but where is Sara. I really enjoyed the audio book.

The awful Vietnam war.
Reviewed: 02-17-24
I loved the book. I love our Vietnam Vets and the treatment they received when they came home was disgusting and disgraceful, Most of them didn't ask to go over there, they were made to go. Eighteen and nineteen year olds. I don't want to get started...I couldn't stop listening to the book. Loved the stories about the nurses and what they went thru and all the lives they saved. All I ever knew about the nurses was watching China Beach. You are one of my favorite writers and you did a great job. The audio was wonderful and they did a good job. I loved the ending, that was my hope all thru the book. Thanks ❤️
