Erin Blake has one of those names. A name that, like Natalee Holloway or Elizabeth Smart, is inextricably linked to a grisly crime. As a toddler, Erin survived for three days alongside the corpse of her murdered mother, and the case - which remains unsolved - fascinated a nation. Her father's identity unknown, Erin was taken in by her mother's best friend and has become a relatively normal teen in spite of the looming questions about her past.

Story
Michael Hiebert’s remarkable debut novel tells the riveting story of a small Southern town haunted by tragedy. Abe Teal wasn’t even born when Ruby Mae Vickers went missing twelve years ago. Few people in Alvin, Alabama, talk about the months spent looking for her, or about how Ruby Mae’s lifeless body was finally found beneath a willow tree. Even Abe’s mom, Leah, Alvin’s only detective, has avoided the subject. But now, another girl is missing.

This book was very well written. It was an enjoyable, realistic action packed book. A young girl is in a lot of terrible situations. It's about a small town with a lot of rough good old boys, illegal gambling and murder.

The character was annoying in a sense. She would not be completely honest with anyone. Which in turn made it very difficult to listen to this book. Half of her problems would not of happened if she would of been upfront about things. I felt like I was reading a very young writers work. It was not a bad story. I listened to all of it. Pretty Good overall.
