Story
It’s not easy serving Chernobog, the God of Destruction, Darkness and Death…especially during the holidays; and especially when you’re out of eggnog and one of your pesky, freeloading mythic creatures has eaten your last cookie. Roman would like nothing more than to be left alone, but when a wounded boy stumbles into his yard and begs for sanctuary, Roman takes him in. Now elite mercenaries are camped out on his property, combat mages are dousing the house with fire, and strange priests are unleashing arcane magic.

I loved this story that gives of tons of information about Roman's background. The young man who asked for sanctuary will make an interesting character to this series. Plus his sister is a total rock star that will definitely be a good love interest for Roman. Chris Brinkley was the perfect pick to be Roman's voice.

I love Lady Violets investigations. This one has proven to be quite entertaining. Violet is invited to an old school friends wedding. She asks Hugh to travel with her. After they arrive it seems that the bridegroom is not to be found. Violet and Hugh become lovers and this helps Violet to start healing from the emotional abuse her late husband had put her through.

Lady Violet Belmaine is just finding her balance as a widow who has recently put off mourning when she’s summoned to the family seat to celebrate a sibling’s wedding. Hugh St. Sevier’s escort makes the journey somewhat bearable, while Sebastian MacHeath’s presence among the guests is a more dubious blessing.

Lady Violet returns home for her youngest brother's wedding. But all does not go well. The bride's parents have not arrived, the groom's father does not approve and to top that; the bride is kidnapped! Lady Violet has a chance to say some things to her father that she has been saving up for a long time. I love how Violet, Sebastian, and Henri go about finding the bride and the culprit. The narrator is quite good, moving through all of the voices easily.

I love the way that Lady Violet thinks. Her two friends were smart and entertaining as the investigated and dealt with her. The cast of characters were varied and filled out the house party nicely.

Each one of these stories shines. My personal favorites were "My True Hath My Heart" by Joanna Bourne, "Mistletoe Kisses" by Anne Gracie, "Old Flames Dance" by Cara Elliott, "Miss Finch and the Angel" by Jo Beverley and "A Season for Marriage" by Nicola Cornick. I should must say all of them were my favorites

Story
Charles Dickens is not feeling the Christmas spirit. His newest book is an utter flop, the critics have turned against him, relatives near and far hound him for money. While his wife plans a lavish holiday party for their ever-expanding family and circle of friends, Dickens has visions of the poor house. But when his publishers try to blackmail him into writing a Christmas book to save them all from financial ruin, he refuses. And a serious bout of writer's block sets in.

The story was so much fun! I enjoyed how the author mixed the actual story written by Dickens into her own story about how it was written. The narrator was excellent.

Story
The North Yorkshire moors are always a magical place, but they’re particularly enchanting at the holidays…especially if one gets to travel back in time to a Victorian Christmas. For Bronwyn Dale, it is the stuff of dreams. Fancy-dress balls, quirky small-town traditions, even that classic one-horse open sleigh, complete with jingle bells. There’s just the tiny problem of the Butterfly Effect. How does a time-traveler make a difference without disrupting the future forever?
