Story
In 1911 two British heiresses, Claire and Dora Williamson, read a brochure about a revolutionary fasting treatment that promised a lifetime of good health. The sanatorium in the village of Olalla, west of Seattle, was surrounded by a beautiful forest, sparkling waters and fresh air. The sisters agreed it sounded perfect and exactly the restorative holiday they needed. But within a month of arriving, under the supervision of Doctor Linda Burfield Hazzard, Claire and Dora began to realise the frightening truth – they were not patients but prisoners at the isolated sanitorium.

Love of Money; The Root of All Evil
Reviewed: 06-21-24
It surprised me that these people were so drawn to this woman. She put them in a vulnerable state, and convinced them she was helping them with their money and jewels. When all the while she was robbing them for her own benefit. Deaths just helped (or so she thought), until friends and family asked questions. Good book, justice was different back then.

Great story. This book gives the reader insight to how hard life was in East Germany in the 50's and 60's. Brillant acedemics and hard work fast tracked him with the Government. He was recruted to be a spy. But like the TV show "The Americans", he was here pretending to be a citizen (not so much). A marrige and children made him decide to stay here and leave spying; but the FBI was watching him and listening.

A riveting, cautionary tale rooted in history that continues to echo today, The Killer's Shadow is a terrifying and essential exploration of the criminal personality in the vile grip of extremism and what happens when rage-filled speech evolves into deadly action and hatred of the “other" is allowed full reign.

Open borders, record inflation, and skyrocketing crime—Joe Biden’s first term is one of the most craptastic in American history. But on Planet Brandon, it’s all going according to plan . . . He received 81 million votes. His party controlled the House and the Senate. He took office with a nearly 60 percent approval rating. His first month saw the economy recovering nicely and the new COVID-19 vaccines being distributed around the country. And, in his words, he had the awesome power to mobilize “truinernashabada pressure.”

The gods of This Age, and How To Identify Them
Reviewed: 04-14-23
This book took what I did know, and what I didn't know, and wove it all together. What we are dealing with is decades (and less) of opening doors for different gods to come in. We see them manifest before our eyes - and acceptance - forced or not - in our society, government, and around the world.
There is a "blow your mind" piece near the end. This whole book will "blow your mind", and it should. One of the best books I've ever listened to or read in 54 years (this adds up to about 1,000 books).
