voice volume was across the board, whispering to shouting in a split second. I was straining to hear them jumping back as she shouted. almost quit the book because of her.
Story is excellent tho, worth the listen.

I've bypassed this book several times because I was never a fan of the TV series based on this book. . Don't let the TV version influence you, the book has little in common with it.
The emotions this story invoked were so intense, several times I found myself laughing hysterically, and then sobbing with grief. In the end, I truly felt I'd become friends with Mrs. Mike.
This is a story that I will definitely be re-visiting more than once!

I found this book disturbing and couldn't finish it. I returned it because I will never listen to it again. The story focuses on 1 child in a very dysfunctional family, situations that go way past my comfort zone.

As always, Molly Harper comes through for the Half Moon Hollow fans!
I was glad to be back in the house with Jane, Gabriel and the rest of the gang. I hope Molly Harper will come out with a few more books centered around our favourite characters.
Amanda Ronconi and Molly Harper... 2 peas in a pod LOL!

This is not an easy read, it's heart wrenching and quite dark at times. The author has done a remarkable feat, delving into the horrific past of a bizarre but lovable woman.
Laural Merlington does a great job at narration. The emotions come through loud and clear.
I just had to get the rest of the books in the sequel. If the others are as compelling as this 1st one, it won't be time wasted.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure, it's an easy listen with entertaining values.

What other book might you compare The Complete Lake Series to and why?

The 1st book had similarities to Twilight in the sense that it was love at 1st sight, and the target of her affection was so beautiful. Thankfully, that was lost in book 2 as the story picked up its own direction.

Any additional comments?

It was good that I got the entire series with one credit. Had I used the credit for the 1st book alone, I would have returned it and missed out the remaining 3 books. The story develops quite nicely and even though it ends predictably its still an interesting journey to get there.

Any additional comments?

I am not a fan of westerns, this was my husbands choice. That being said, I have to admit that I'm hooked.
It's so well written, I could understand the 2 young men's reasoning and reactions to different situations. The story has a lot of meat on the bones and it's easy to sink your teeth into it. LOL! I'm actually looking forward to see what happens next in this series.
BTW... my husband loved this book, and the fact that he could discuss it with me during and after the listen. We will definitely be getting into the next book.

Still lots of gun-play and hangings, but the listener can see the country becoming more civilized. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

The saga continues. Even though this book focuses on the younger brother, the story continues to progress with the older brothers life. It's really well written. I strongly suggest you listen to this series in book order. There is so many details you'll miss if you don't.
