This was a different take on the local monster tale and I really liked it, but the narration enhanced the story and made it my favorite listen this year. Each character was well defined and recognizable from the others. Kudos!!

While I like the tale, the virtual voice made enough pronunciation errors to break the flow and left me momentarily scratching my head over what it said. This is the second virtual voice book I've listened to and like the first, I found the monotone made it hard sometimes to know which character was speaking during dialogues, While these voices are pleasant, the lack of exclamation and emotion hamper your imagination, makes it hard to get into the story. I kept thinking, "don't they proof-listen this stuff ?"

Not for me
Didn't seem to be a story, just two women mentally complaining about each other interspersed with beach scenes. Hope it leads to some great discovery of mutual understanding, but I got bored waiting. This is the first book I couldn't get interested in.

No resolution to any of the tales. Too much animal gore and wandering around in characters minds without any real development. Hard to keep my attention focused. Just all around bad.

Loved Earthcore and have been waiting ever since for a sequel. Scott expands on the origin of the aliens and tied up the fate of the survivers, nicely.

When I got to the second half, I couldn't stop listening. This is the first time in the ten plus years of listening to an audio book that I put my life on hold to listen straight through. Now I ponder my own memories, my own strong flash points. I really loved the premise of this story. I wonder if I'll see it made into a series someday, and if they'll do it justice or kill it with PC adaptations.
