Engaging characters with distinct personalities. The harem characters don't become lost in the throng. Lots of good combat to hold the attention.

The book is a romp through mech combat and do it yourself war machines with a side order of AI’s to dine on. Plenty of sexy combatants to keep the mind engaged, and an MC with a lucky streak a mile wide. ðŸ˜?

Another fun read from Mr. Schinhofen. Of course as soon as we learn Benedict’s Uncle is named Skippy we just know he’s going to catch Hell. Hopefully we won’t need to wait another year for a sequel.

I have a soft spot for space opera, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Well-drawn characters, a strong backstory for the MC, a believable supporting cast, and a rocking space battle. There are a few weak spots, such as using genetics to create the implants where nanites might have served better, and the mechs in the story more closely resemble anime Gundams than classic war machines. Still, it's a well-crafted story, and I'll be following it in the future.

The final installment of the Binding Words series seems to be as much about redemption as revenge. All the pompous asses from earlier books are being punished in Sean's bog, Thor gets some not-so-instant Karma, the Summer and Winter Queens finally find the soul mate they lost to the Tuatha, and the wisps are released from their imprisonment as spiritual light bulbs.

Andrea Parsneau does her usual bang-up job with that versatile voice of hers and my only complaint was the number of pitches for the author's earlier works. Overall, it's an enjoyable book and well worth the Audible credit.

Zander Greaves is a military contractor (a mercenary) who knows his way around a battlefield, and that's something the denizens of his new galaxy know nothing about. He's going to teach them an eye-opening, expensive, and embarrassing lesson in the realities of battle. The book pulls you in and holds your attention despite some slow spots for Zander's more amorous adventures. The book is fun, and I'm looking forward to some more Blood and Thunder in the upcoming series. DS seldom disappoints.

Another fun installment to the Accidental Necromancer series. The author writes sharply drawn female characters and detailed descriptions of the various schools of magic in the story. He puts thought into his work and has a well-developed author's "voice" to tie his books together. In this case, much of his "author's voice" is provided by Zachary Zaba and Kassandra Cherry, who do a bang-up job of bringing his words to life.
