Story
Utilizing the Hall, the voice in his head that calls itself Locke, those who have aligned with his faction, and all the powers available to him, Ash has begun his own journey of Cultivation. Except that as a Fated One, his journey is a narrow and winding path between two cosmic forces. Each one vying for dominance. That doesn’t even take into account the royal family or the Realm Lord. This is his third step in his life as a Cultivator.

A strong story. Interpersonal relationships trump T & A.

Engaging characters with distinct personalities. The harem characters don't become lost in the throng. Lots of good combat to hold the attention.

Wayne dreamed of piloting a thirty-foot-tall walking robot that was closer to a battle-tank than anything else. They were called Walkers. They were armed with laser cannons, rockets, missiles, and heavy kinetic weapons more similar to artillery pieces than guns, and everything that went with that. Unfortunately, he had been declined military service. His only avenue left to become a Walker Pilot was to make it happen all on his own. Under his own power. With his own hands. Literally. Working his fingers to the bone, saving all he could, and digging through junkyards and salvage pits,

An excellent shoot em up space opera.

The book is a romp through mech combat and do it yourself war machines with a side order of AI’s to dine on. Plenty of sexy combatants to keep the mind engaged, and an MC with a lucky streak a mile wide. ðŸ˜?

Story
In September 2019, Max Morgan boarded a vintage Beech Twin aircraft with the five ladies from his office and the three-person flight crew for a flight to Sheridan, Wyoming. Max’s boss had scheduled a team-building exercise for survival training, so they had bags packed with camping gear, firearms, and ammunition. Then the aircraft hit a mysterious vortex in the air that pulled them inexorably toward the west at a dizzying speed. That vortex dumped their aircraft back in time in northern Germany 1,700 years earlier.

Another fun read from Mr. Schinhofen. Of course as soon as we learn Benedict’s Uncle is named Skippy we just know he’s going to catch Hell. Hopefully we won’t need to wait another year for a sequel.

Story
Chase had it all planned out. Do a little time in one of the emperor's jails, say a four-year stretch, for getting rid of some trash that no one would miss, and when he got out, the path to leadership would be wide open. Unfortunately, his bastard of a father, the same one who left his mother to die in poverty and him to run wild on the streets, took an interest. Seeing him sitting on the bench when his case went to court was a shock. But not as big a shock as being sentenced to ten years in the Imperial Navy.

An Old School Space Opera
Reviewed: 02-12-24
I have a soft spot for space opera, and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Well-drawn characters, a strong backstory for the MC, a believable supporting cast, and a rocking space battle. There are a few weak spots, such as using genetics to create the implants where nanites might have served better, and the mechs in the story more closely resemble anime Gundams than classic war machines. Still, it's a well-crafted story, and I'll be following it in the future.

Sean had long waited for his chance to avenge his friends from Oakwood— when the time finally came, it was with several unlikely allies: High Lady Minerva Queensblood, who felt her family owed Sean for helping her son, Commander Queensblood. Advisor Mackenzie Earthfoot, who had to walk a thin line to not favor Sean too much, lest she earn the Queens’ ire. With his friends and allies, Sean time and again thwarted Lord Truestrike and his minions. He even befriended his daughter, Dame Trisha Truestrike, giving her hope that she might one day see Darragh again.

Ragnarök for your listening enjoyment
Reviewed: 02-12-24
The final installment of the Binding Words series seems to be as much about redemption as revenge. All the pompous asses from earlier books are being punished in Sean's bog, Thor gets some not-so-instant Karma, the Summer and Winter Queens finally find the soul mate they lost to the Tuatha, and the wisps are released from their imprisonment as spiritual light bulbs.
Andrea Parsneau does her usual bang-up job with that versatile voice of hers and my only complaint was the number of pitches for the author's earlier works. Overall, it's an enjoyable book and well worth the Audible credit.

Everything had changed for Zander Greaves over the last few weeks. He'd gone from being a private military contractor with his squad in the Middle East to being isekai-ed into a different multiverse. He lost his friends and his lover, Selda, in the same hour of his arrival, sparking in him the mission to kill every single Entoma he could to repay them for his loss. Luckily, an alien named Crish arrived to help Zander adjust to his new reality.

Reviewed: 12-27-23
Zander Greaves is a military contractor (a mercenary) who knows his way around a battlefield, and that's something the denizens of his new galaxy know nothing about. He's going to teach them an eye-opening, expensive, and embarrassing lesson in the realities of battle. The book pulls you in and holds your attention despite some slow spots for Zander's more amorous adventures. The book is fun, and I'm looking forward to some more Blood and Thunder in the upcoming series. DS seldom disappoints.

Well Worth the Wait
Reviewed: 03-30-23
Another fun installment to the Accidental Necromancer series. The author writes sharply drawn female characters and detailed descriptions of the various schools of magic in the story. He puts thought into his work and has a well-developed author's "voice" to tie his books together. In this case, much of his "author's voice" is provided by Zachary Zaba and Kassandra Cherry, who do a bang-up job of bringing his words to life.
