Story
In the early 2000s, after years of hard work and determination to breakthrough as an actor, Bethany Joy Lenz was finally cast as one of the leads on the hit drama One Tree Hill. Her career was about to take off, but her personal life was slowly beginning to unravel. What none of the show’s millions of fans knew, hidden even from her costars, was her secret double life in a cult. An only child who always wanted a place to belong, Lenz found the safe haven she’d been searching for in a Bible study group with other Hollywood creatives. However, the group soon morphed into something more sinister.

Goosebumps - so good!
Reviewed: 10-25-24
Joy did a great job writing and narrating this book. She made you really understand how she could fall into the trap of her religious cult and you felt for her throughout the whole thing. I do wish the end had a part about how she re-found her faith, but it was very good read!

I really enjoyed the book. It wasn’t gory which I appreciated. Just the amount of suspense. The ending was a bit rushed, but overall a nice read and the narrator did a fantastic job.

She’s humiliated by the know-it-all in her physics class, she botches her interview for the college paper, and at a party that night, she accidentally sets a frat on fire. Beginning was good then it became too repetitive
Reviewed: 03-11-24
The beginning was really good but then I felt like the same dragged on (yes I know it’s time travel and they’re repeating days). I also thought it seemed very rushed that the two main characters all of a sudden liked each other. I didn’t buy in to their relationship. Overall it’s a good storyline and the beginning has a lot of funny parts, but the last half was hard to make myself finish (also narrator was a tad whiny so it could have been that over the actual writing). I’ll give the author another chance but the narrator wasn’t for me.

Story
Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

Cute easy read! More YA than romance
Reviewed: 06-21-23
This book could definitely pass for YA. It had some sexual references but was very clean which I actually found refreshing for an adult ready, however if you’re wanting a steamy romance then this is not it. I did think that the main guy was very book-like and not how most guys would act, but I still thought it was a super cute read and I enjoyed it.

When my math tutor made me sign a contract promising I wouldn't fall in love with him, I thought he was joking. He wasn't. Yes, Carter Hastings is the prince of Eden Falls Academy—one of the most beautiful humans on earth—and boy, does he know it. But I can use this to my advantage. Since I basically signed a paper saying I'd never catch feelings for him, it makes my plan even more perfect. So I offer him a deal: a fake relationship.

Story
Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank’s remarkable diary has since become a world classic - a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a 13-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the “Secret Annex” of an old office building.

The world saw Carlos Pena and Alexa Vega enjoying the success of their acting careers--Carlos on Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush and Alexa in the Spy Kids movies. But what they didn't see was the question both Carlos and Alexa were asking in the midst of all that fame and fortune: What's the point of it all anyway?

Typical YA novel of the girl falling for her best friend’s brother, but it was so good! Definitely worth the credit or the buy. I liked that it had mature content (such as drinking and references to sex) but still kept the YA approach.
