This book is everything I dislike. It’s an omega-verse. Fated mates. Has MM (not homophobic, just doesn’t do it for me). BUT THIS BOOK. They are going on my all-time-favorite list and I will be singing them from the rooftops. I would gladly have amnesia just to listen again for the first time. Buy the books. Give them a try. You won’t regret it.

This book was toe-curling adorable. I loved everything about. It deserves a dedicated single play though with a fire and cocoa and some solid headphones. All the warm feelings in an amazing performance.

Reader beware, this is not a book. It’s certainly not an audiobook. It’s a full-blown work of art. It’s a haunting story so beautifully told that I’m grateful to be reminded it’s a work of fiction. It lures you in with the unique storytelling, releases you just long enough to breathe, and then begins again. Truly mesmerizing and worth every moment spent. I have zero regrets that I neglected my house cleaning to trance out to this for several hours.

I saw a lot of people didn’t like the narrator for this book, but as I’m a big Kristen Banet fan, I figured I would give it a shot anyway. I actually really enjoyed Lucy Rivers’ narration. I found her easy to understand, compelling in her emoting, and able to differentiate voices well. She kept good pace and rhythm and I’ve heard a lot worse. The story is, of course, incredible and I’m really looking forward to buying the next as soon as I submit this review!

If this were a live performance, I’d have given a standing ovation. Best two hours spent with friends.

What the smut

This book is difficult to pin down. Beautifully written and narrated to perfection, this is some top-quality erotica here. I don’t know why, but I wasn’t expecting erotica when I picked it up. That’s not normally my thing. However, this had just enough story to make it compelling and so I actually finished it. That says a lot from me.

Here’s a simple synopsis for you: Peter Pan and the Lost Boys are a bunch of angry and SUPER horny young men. Winnie Darling is a dead-inside and SUPER horny young woman. She is kidnapped by Pan and Co. for some side-quest reasons because although there’s a “don’t touch the Darlings” rule in place, touching the Darling appears to be the main quest for every Lost Boy within a quarter mile. But it’s okaaaay, she’s super different from all the other Darling women he’s kidnapped before and soon enough Peter Pan joins in the fun for some orgy stuff.

Oh yeah, and then storyline happens and cliffhanger occurs. Guess now you’ll have to pick up book number two. Not sure I’m willing to wade through another three and a half hours of smut to get to the half hour of story in the next book, but we’ll see how bored I am in the next few days. Not a full-stop pass, but I feel no dire inclination to continue.

The story was good. The female narrator was good. BUT DEAR HEAVENS that made narrator. I told myself at first that it was his audio equipment. Give the man a chance, I said. I tried my best, friends, but in the end… I have never heard someone make such unique mistakes. He doth not follow written cues for vocal tone. Someone growls on the page, but Sir Tristan feels there should be an question mark on the end. And why does the emphasis of a sentence always seem to be on anything but the proper subject? All-in-all, his portions gave the impression of an aged gentleman peering through his bifocals via the length of his nose and channeling his inner chieftain a la Pocahontas, losing it somewhere in the hollows of his dentures and finding it on his neighbor’s shoe. If one of the more mature scenes makes it into his hands, the libido of the persons listening may very well be irreplaceably damaged.

If I ever find the drive to pick up the next book in this series, it will be the Kindle addition for me.

I was wary at first because usually fairytales told by silky-toned Englishmen lull me to sleep, but Tim Bruce can have my heart and whatever else he wants. He can also have my medical bills. I almost swooned enough in the Walmart grocery section to have an ambulance called and I’m now concerned about my heart with all the fluttering. In all seriousness, the story and performance were some of the best I’ve heard and I loved every single second of the nearly 21 hours with my dearest friends.

This story was absolutely one of the greatest I have ever had the honor to experience. The characters are delightful and relatable, the narrators were spectacular, and I wish I could erase it from my mind so I could listen for the first time again. 100/10 would recommend.
