Silliest audio book ever
Reviewed: 05-22-24
I truly cannot believe that anyone allowed this to be sold as an audiobook - especially on Audible. Practically the whole book is a discussion about various rooms and spaces that are clearly pictured in the book but not available in the associated PDF. So be prepared to listen to a book of visual descriptions but nothing visual to see - a recipe for sheer frustration! And yes, I've checked the available PDF and have even gone to the authors' website looking for an additional PDF that might make this book make sense. If these women were hoping to get fans or followers from this book, it accomplished the opposite.

In need of an editor to pare this book way down
Reviewed: 04-06-18
I enjoyed this book as it started and very much enjoyed the narrator's accent which seemed to add to the story. But not quite half way in, it started to drag in the worst way and I ended up feeling like the whole story could've been much, much shorter and less annoying had an editor pared things down.

Beck is everything Joe has ever wanted: she's gorgeous, tough, razor-smart, and sexy beyond his wildest dreams. Joe needs to have her, and he'll stop at nothing to do so. As he begins to insinuate himself into her life - her friendships, her email, her phone - she can’t resist her feelings for a guy who seems custom-made for her. So when her boyfriend, Benji, mysteriously disappears, Beck and Joe fall into a tumultuous affair. But there's more to Beck than her oh-so-perfect façade.

Entirely Predictable Story
Reviewed: 03-06-16
How on earth did this book get so many good reviews? I bought the book based on them and kept listening because of them, thinking that maybe the plot would finally change or do something unexpected. But it just drags on and on and it ends just the way that you think it's going to within the first few moments of the book.
Around midway through the book, I couldn't take it anymore and jumped to the last two hours... I hadn't missed a thing. The plot was exactly where you'd expect. How can this book be called a thriller when it is utterly predictable? I truly feel like I want a refund on the time I wasted listening to this... in fact, I'd pay to get my time back.
Having said that, I will say that I think that it was well narrated and hope that I'll come across a better book with the same narrator.

The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

The best history book that I've ever heard
Reviewed: 01-23-13
I'm blown away by this book. It fills in a huge gap of human history. How did China learn of Europe, Europe of China? Gunpowder, printing, the compass... and this is just scratching the surface of the impact that the Mongols had. The narration was fabulous. The story was fabulous. I wish that I could give the book more than five stars.
