Story
Minalan the Spellmonger has a problem: Mycin Amana, the undead consort of Korbal the Necromancer, is not only occupying one of the largest castles in the kingdom; she’s also occupying the recently-dead body of his former lover, rapist, and mother of his children, Isily of Greenflower. As the crises in the heart of the kingdom grows, Minalan is tasked to force the so-called Witch Queen of Darkfaller from her new stronghold using any means necessary. Unfortunately, the castle belongs to his rival in the royal court and future monarch Prince Tavard, whose ideas are doomed to failure.

Absolutely hilarious.

Despite the yammering of these terminally humorless dolphins, this audiobook is one of the funniest things you could listen to. Beautifully narrated and performed. If Dirk Gently was written today by an American, it would be Tom Stranger.

Terrible narration
Reviewed: 08-08-18
This is one of the best books ever written. It deserves better than this condescending rambling nonsense of a narrator. I know he's been the voice of lord of the rings for too long. find someone, anyone else to perform this. Tolkien deserves better.

Take a delightful, amusing journey into the world of radio and music. You will discover the Camiemda Ranch, a magical place high in the Colorado Rockies, where Paddy Gaughan introduced radio broadcasting in the early 20th century. One hundred years later, his great grandson teams up with the nation's finest program director and one of the country's great promotions directors (who are madly in love with one another, but can't seem to settle down in the same city) to establish the world's most famous radio station.

Keats, Shakespeare, Steinbeck, this book resembles none of these. It is however, like having a retired music professor explain music, radio, and art; all while spinning a yarn that brings tears to your eyes.
A wonderful experience that rekindles one's love of music and a great love story.

Story
Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

Not only is Simon Jones one of the best narrators in the business. This book also gives you so much more than you expect from its age group. Especially if you read the rest of the series you will end up reading a story with not only some of the best characters, humor, and wit you will also have a story with the best ending of any young adult book I have ever read.
