Trixie isn’t exactly sure what she was thinking when she stopped her car in the middle of downtown Chicago, scooped up a chicken struggling to cross the road, and drove off…but she does know that she has to find a new home for herself and her new feathered friend. The landlord at her apartment doesn’t allow pets and has caught Trixie in one too many pet-smuggling attempts in the past.

Thought I’d like this one more than I did. It had potential but never quite got there for me. Also, I didn’t think the male narrator voice matched the character.

A very cute book. It was honestly very refreshing to read a Cinderella type story where the stepfamily wasn’t awful.

So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father's dive bar... in Washington. So Fun and Oh So Steamy!
Reviewed: 04-29-22
I loved the bonds between all the characters. The sisters’ relationship was so refreshing, the fishermen were fun and I’d love to see more of the townies! At the start of the book I was skeptical if this would make my Worth It list (I can’t stand not to finish a book so in place of a DNF list I just mark whether or not it was a worthwhile read). Honestly, even well into the middle of the book I wondered at the shallowness of the MC and was hoping to see more of the sister. But by and by I noticed myself rooting for her and before I knew it, much like our MC and the town she resides in, I’d fallen for the whole thing. Very excited to start the next book!

Cute but short. A little rushed and predictable. Lots of obnoxiously thirsty longing from the Main Characters. Lol
I found myself wishing we could have gotten some more history, more banter between the MCs and supporting characters… also had more opportunity to know and fall for some of the supporting characters - maybe even make the villains a little less obvious from the beginning …it would have helped with the drama of the big climax.

A down on her luck, at the end of her rope, 30 year old woman has some long held baggage she needs to sort out in order to find her way to a place of peace and subsequently the love of her life.
The only thing is that the narrator wasn’t very distinctive in separating the different character’s voices so I found some sections hard to follow.

She simply can’t handle another blind date with the butcher, the baker, or the candlestick maker from her hometown. So when she finds the Craigslist ad for a boyfriend-for-hire, she’s ready to pay to play.

Kind of seriously wished I was the heroine in this one... Not just for the love story or the freaking hot guy, but because she is just a really cool character! But also, for her life and the hot guy and love story lol, I’m not stupid! 😆
And although I wasn’t a huge fan of the female narrator, she didn’t ruin the book for me.
