Story
Arthur Parnassus lives a good life built on the ashes of a bad one. He’s the headmaster of a strange orphanage on a distant and peculiar island, and he hopes to soon be the adoptive father to the six dangerous and magical children who live there. Arthur works hard and loves with his whole heart so none of the children ever feel the neglect and pain that he once felt as an orphan on that very same island so long ago. He is not alone: joining him is the love of his life, Linus Baker, a former caseworker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth.

Adjust your coziness expectations. This is heavier than the first one.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Well written & well narrated. A very interesting look into the type of life that very few experience. This book very much shows that the journey of navigating life, the change from child to adult, family relationships, the pressures put on us by our relatives, etc.. is difficult for everyone. Despite being what many see as blessed since birth, Harry shows us the trials in growing up in a closed off, dysfunctional, stuffy, often cold, royal family under immense scrutiny & pressure. I enjoyed this book & very much hope that Harry & Meghan find peace & a happy life here in the US away from the petty games played by the monarchy & the British press.

Story
In Russian Winter, the beautiful debut novel by critically acclaimed writer Daphne Kalotay, a famed ballerina’s jewelry auction in Boston reveals long-held secrets of love and family, friendship and rivalry, harkening back to Stalinist Russia. Called “tender, passionate, and moving” by Jenna Blum, the New York Times bestselling author of Those Who Save Us, Russian Winter is a perfect choice for fans of the novels of Debra Dean (The Madonnas of Leningrad), Ann Patchett (Bel Canto), and Ian McEwan (Atonement).
