Great Story with Fun Characters
Reviewed: 01-16-20
The overall story was set at a good pace. While the beginning was a little bit of scene setting and discussion, it quickly went to the action and the conflict. The main character wasn't as funny as he thought he was, but it was still very pleasant to listen to. I wasn't able to predict where this book was going or who really was the on the opposite side and even until the end you can kind of empathize with some of the motivations. Not justify, but empathize. The one thing I loved about the story is Ben. I believe this is just one of those overexaggerating uncles that has the answer to almost everything. He was a fun character and it's a shame he only came towards the end. Anyway, great story and I plan on continuing the series.

Great Book, Rough Content
Reviewed: 10-25-19
I will start my saying that I love that the author narrated this book. I loved how she gave voices to the main and supporting characters because I believe that the author knows exactly would they want their characters to sound like and what they should sound like. She did a great job. This book is hard to listen to because the content. There are moments in it that just made me angry. It's written as letters between sisters and letters to God and letters to whoever and just diary entries as well. But either way the things that occur in the book to the main character are sometimes hard the swallow as a woman living in the modern times. However this is a very well written book. It has great themes and messages. Although it is a hard listen it is a riveting book. It's been a long time since I listen to a book outside the car. I find myself wanting to know exactly how things panned out for the protagonist. I wanted to know what happened, what was going to happen I want to know if things are going to be OK in the end. I really enjoyed this book even though the characters in it are Hard to swallow.

Story
"My name is Mike Ross. I'm a Ferryman. I help people with ghost problems, or ghosts with people problems. Funny thing, no one ever helps me with my problems. Civil War ghosts bent on killing me, Skinwalkers who just want my body, and a vindictive spirit linked both to my bloodline and my destiny... It turns out the dead still hold a good deal of influence over the world, and they don't want to give it up. I'm in way over my head. Fortunately, I'm too stubborn to quit."

Pretty Good
Reviewed: 10-25-19
I enjoyed this book for the most part. The thing I like the most about this book is its unconventional protagonist. He is a partially disabled war veteran who lives at home with his mother. Hes fairly young and decided to go back to school when he was medically discharged/retired from the military. He just happens to see dead people with his new eye. Sometimes those dead people and being able to communicate with them puts him in precarious situations. That's the premise of the book. I did enjoy the narration by Kafer. The only thing that I would change or didn't too much care for was the pace. Imagine playing a video game and beating the big boss then realizing that wasn't the big boss there's another stage or two to complete with an even bigger boss. I believe the 1st big boss was the natural ending and everything that came after that could have been the beginning of a different book and elaborate upon. But I'm not a writer so I could be completely wrong. I might have the unpopular opinion. anyway, the book is pretty good and an easy listen. I would not mind looking into other works by this author.

Good High Fantasy
Reviewed: 10-15-19
This audiobook took a while for me to get into, but once it got rolling the story was pretty good. It's high fantasy where a former bard, a warrior and royalty eventually journey to stop the dangerous cult mentioned in the title. I especially liked how the male protagonist didnt start off as being worth anything. he was essentially useless in a fight, but bu the end of the book he was holding his own against other warriors (all thanks to a strong female lead). the characters are fairly simple, but it works for the book.

Less Kinky Black Dagger but with werewolves

Don't let the title will you, I thoroughly enjoyed this series of books. However, I do believe after the 1st book was finished the next two became woefully predictable. Essentially these 3 books are of a couple finding each other. We all know how it ends because it's told by almost the same point of views for majority of the book. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed listening to these books. The best part of all 3 books was Granny. I love that Character, I think she's cute. In fact, she might be the only strong female character in the book. Go Granny! She also might be the only character they didn't sound exactly like another character.

Pretty good story
Reviewed: 08-10-19
Without giving too much away, the protagonist is a killer. In fact everyone is a killer. The difference is majority of the characters are under some kind of a mind wipe where the don't know who they were previously and they have their one focus which is their job. They are also enhanced humans who can do things no ordinary person could. Typically not the kind of book that I go for. I will say that this book has opened me up to kind of a different genre for me; that's a good thing. The book started fastish and kept up the momentum for the entire thing although it is kind of short. I really enjoyed this book. The narrator was fantastic as usual. The story does kind of end in the middle. Don't get me wrong plenty goes on and a lot of truths are revealed that I didn't really see coming. It is a fantastic story, but there is more to it and the ending hints to it if it's not already a part of a series. Four star for the stories 5 star from the narration.

Story
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade.

A "Like" not a "Love"
Reviewed: 03-17-19
Over all, I like this story. It's a solid 3.5 stars rounded up to four. I didn't love the story but I did like it. Essentially this reads like fan fiction with the space force. Potentially someone took the promise of their favorite video game and decided to make a story about it but with a little more than shoot em up. There was a underlying love story and a couple of character arcs and genuinely funny moments. I must say that the laughs came at unexpected moments. Some dark unexpected moments, but funny nonetheless. The premise lends towards the fantastical, but it's generally done in an amusing (if not juvenile) fashion.
The narration with spot on. I enjoyed the styles of the male and female lead characters. I do think it could have been enhance with some crossover dialog instead of one person doing all of the dialog for their particular chapter. Otherwise I enjoyed the salad both male and female characters. There was a 3rd narration towards the end of the book from the vantage point of the bus driver but I don't lean 1 way or the other concerning that narrator. I did received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Great Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this title to anyone who likes fantasy novels and are open to something a little different from the norm. This story changes points of view and has harsh villains. There is narrow-mindedness exhibited by some of the characters in the book. It is infuriating, but it will either keep the listener listening or make them shut off the book. It kept me going because I wanted justice to be served.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Zelie. Of course there were moments when I wanted to slap her on the head so she could have a little more confidence in herself but no one is perfect. Overall she is tough, fierce and ruthless when she needed to be. She also has a depth, where she's sometimes insecure (see above) and blames herself. While sometimes this can be annoying to an outsider looking in, it made for a rich tale. I believe this characters is one of the best.
