Story
Rose Cassidy doesn’t truly live; she just exists. Numbing herself to fear and pain is the only way she can survive in this cruel world. So when she’s taken as collateral by the notorious Danny Black in a deadly game of power, she’s thrown by the deep fear she feels rising within her. And, worse than fear, a profound desire. She’s heard tales of The Brit. He’s callous. Coldblooded. But no one ever said he was wickedly beautiful and darkly captivating.

This is an interesting take on Ella's life. I would have liked to know how her family made out.

I liked the book but after a while many of the adults got on my nerves. The lies! Aylis was a selfish person. Couldn't stand her. Both books were okay, but it reminded me of another book mostly based in Ireland.

Home. Bratva is my home, my sanctuary from the past, the only place where a killing machine like me belongs. Sometimes, my demons come rushing back, and I feel out of control, full of rage, close to losing myself completely. Until a broken, injured woman stumbles onto my path, awakening my protective instincts and sending my demons to sleep. Keeping her prisoner is my only option. If she leaves, my darkness will resurface, and there will be no escaping it this time.

Did not like the narrators, they were terrible. The storyline was okay. This was rather basic. There were too many ridiculous wholes in the story. A person is in hiding; you see a familiar face but don't recall from where and your trained guard dog growls at the person and you just dismiss it. Yeah, that's believable or you're extremely stupid. You're a trained assassin and don't notice 2 guys in suits standing behind you? Working in that world, you are ever on alert.

This is your friendly purveyor of smut, Rayna. I’m so glad to be back with another anthology of the best erotic stories of the year. I received so much generous feedback from last year’s anthology, and I’ve integrated a lot of your thoughts into this new volume.

The stories are pretty lame. The narrators are terrible. They read like someone just handed them the script just before recording and they only had one take. After all of that, I found out Audible only allows returns if you use Audible credits to buy the book. Why would I use a credit if the price of the book is less than the price of the credit? Shame on you Amazon!
