I typically love Victor’s books, but I found this one very dull and slow. Honestly it was background noise after a certain point because I just wanted to finish it.

I LOVED it. Kai and Holly’s banter had me LMAO.

Holly is left at the alter during her Christmas Eve wedding. Her husband-to-be announces that he is in love with her BFF, maid of honor and writing partner at her wedding. A year later she is basically robo dating and always takes the dates to a neighborhood restaurant.

One day she runs into Kai, who lives in her building and is one of the owners of that restaurant. They have a meet ugly (as opposed to a meet cute). A very grumpy and jaded man, he tells her he is sick of seeing her pick the wrong me and proceeds to coach her. This is where the hilarity and love ensues.

If the name wasn’t on the cover, I would have thought this was written by Freida McFadden and Tyler Perry. It was so ridiculous and over the top.

Victor Methos definitely knows how to throw a good twist in and I didn’t see it coming.

If you are a fan of the TV show, you’ll definitely enjoy this book. I wish the show was more like the book actually. Evelyn got on my nerves at the end, but I loved the story and turnout. The author writes really good romance novels.

Will and Sarah have gotten married and are on their honeymoon at a lodge in the mountains. While enjoying each other in the lake, they hear a blood curdling scream. When they find the victim, it’s Mercy, the daughter and manager of the property. She’s been brutally stabbed, but with her last breath she gives Will a message for her son. When they go to deliver the news to the family, only one shows any emotion or interest in her death. They carry on the next day like nothing’s happened and don’t ask any questions about her murder.

The book starts 12 hours before the murder. I’ve read some books with horrible families, but this one is by far the worst. The main character Mercy never stood a chance. Karin is excellent at writing horrible violent characters and stories and there is no shortage or horrible people in this book. I ruled the obvious killers out immediately, but when you think you’ve figured it out, you haven’t. My mouth was agape when we found out not only the who, but the why. I was almost in tears when we find out everything this poor woman experienced and we experience her murder. Highly recommend and can’t with for the tv show to return and the next book.

As always Stina does a great job narrating, but 37 hours, why? At least 30 hours of it was smut up to the last 10 minutes including every detail of tendrils entering both holes and smelling arousal. 23 hours of Sera being hardheaded and suffering from PTSD and lying to everyone about being OK and nothing else happened. Finally some action after hour 24, Kolis wasn’t dealt with until hour 35. If I never hear “I smell your arousal” again, it will be too soon. The same repetitive words and phrases over and over again and again. I hope the final books of Blood and Ash won’t be this disappointing.

I can’t wait for Lilith to die. What a cliffhanger! The author certainly knows how to wring out every emotion in you. This series is excellent and definitely deserves the hype that some of the other well known series get. I was happy we got to finally enjoy our mates being together and I even fell in love with Ryver. I hope book 4 is coming to audio soon.

17:47 minutes for Haven and Ryker to finally make it completely back to each other. Ryker’s heartbreak was soul crushing and I was emotionally drained right along with him.

There are so many subplots and schemes happening and I’m enjoying all of this and frustrated at the same time. On to book 3.

4 years of waiting and we got book with new people, a new enemy that was never mentioned in the first 2 books, 4 points of view and characters that disappeared and received only a mention. There seemed to be so much going on and not, at the same time. but this book seems like it was the introduction to a potential new series and a disjointed ending to this one. Cynthia is a good actress, but I think Bahni Turpin would have been a been a better narrator. She did a great job with the other 2 books.
