Story
It had to happen. St Mary's is under investigation. Their director has been shot and Max is Number One Suspect. She needs to get away - fast - but dare she risk another jump so soon? And if she does, will it be a case of from the frying pan into the fire? We all know the answer to that one.

Great series
Reviewed: 07-18-23
I’ve enjoyed the entire St. Mary’s series and the connected Time Police series. I’ll just have to wait for the next installment (or maybe go back and restart from the beginning). Adventures and banter aside, the vivid descriptions of historical moments suggests some serous research … coupled with a vivid imagination of course.

Story
Punching well above their weight, Max and Markham set out to bring down a sinister organisation founded in the future—with a suspicious focus on the past. Max's focus is staying alive long enough to reunite with Leon and Matthew, alternately helped and hindered by St Mary's—who aren't always the blessing they like to think they are. But non-stop leaping around the timeline—from witnessing Magna Carta to disturbing a certain young man with a penchant for gunpowder—is beginning to take its toll. Is Max going mad? Or are the ghosts of the past finally catching up with her?

Best so far
Reviewed: 05-04-22
I’ve been enjoying this entire series, all the novels and the “short stories”, and this has been my favorite so far. From the vivid historical segments, to the cascade of catastrophes that form the plot, to the comic destruction of soup and cheese sandwiches, my only regret is that since I’ve caught up to the most recent book in the collection, I now have wait impatiently for the next to appear. Or the next Time Police installment. Or even the next short story. Please keep them coming.

Story
Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

Pure fun
Reviewed: 04-10-22
I didn’t know what to expect, but the subtitle provides the warning - this is an unconventional heroic fantasy. And, it is pure fun. A powerful necromancer whose favorite weapon (tiny spoiler) is a shovel. And, whose name is Timmy. It goes on from there. All the characters are fun and distinctive. The audio performance was perfect with all the high energy and humor the tale requires. If you’d enjoy a little escape, this could do the trick.
