I loved this book. It was grace filled. It had a lot of science that was helpful in understanding how the brain works and also had so many tangible steps to start working through anxiety. I would highly recommend.

Story
In the chaotic aftermath of World War II, American college girl Charlie St. Clair is pregnant, unmarried, and on the verge of being thrown out of her very proper family. She's also nursing a desperate hope that her beloved cousin Rose, who disappeared in Nazi-occupied France during the war, might still be alive.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would, and I have recommended this book to a friend. I thought this book was very well performed. It was captivating from start to end. It has a bit suspenseful at times, had some romance in others, and other all just an interesting plot. The characters had me hooked from the start.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The two main characters were equally likable. Although they both had problems, their characters were so different while their paths lined up with one another.
What does Saskia Maarleveld bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Although you are just listening to the book, it is easy to distinguish between characters and time periods. She adds voices that make the characters come to life. The same character may be seen between time periods in this book, but the voices are changed just enough that you can distinguish one character from the past and the present.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were some very suspenseful points in this book where I was on the edge of my seat standing in the room with the characters watching as they were playing out the scene.
Any additional comments?
Overall worth the read. It had a bit of everything!
