Slow, but ending was worth the wait

I have been switching off between Good Guys and bad guys series. Of course my fav is Montana from Good guys, so starting this next book was tough as it started out slow and I wasn't into it. But book got better and better, ending was great with the cameo at the ending.

Do yourself a favor!

This series is not a genre I would gravitate towards. But gave it a chance based on reviews. My husband and boys are gamers so it's fun to hear the terminology used in these books and now have a reference to what it is that they discuss over dinner...lol. I can literally not get enough of these books. They are short and I am burning through my built up credits, but it has been a long time since I found a series of books that I can stop listening to... pure enjoyment. Narrator is amazing... story is fast paced and characters are funny... totally rooting for these guys to win. Spoiler Alert:
I really love how for once the good guys win, these are upbeat, lots of gore and swearing, fighting... but it is for once not completely depressing as so many of the great books are that I have read/listen too.
Do yourself a favor and try the first book!

Not a compelling mystery. Nice setting.

While the reader was decent, the voice did not match that of a 26 year old female. The narrators voice was of an older woman... it was just really hard to match up to a young 20 something who had her first engagement fall through. It was hard to feel the chemistry between the main character and love interest because it was difficult to imagine a young female from that voice. The town and the tree farm described a lovely setting. I wish it was a better book, but I just did not care about any of the characters except maybe the reporter and the mystery was so weak.

This was a very enjoyable listen. Esther and Wilde were very entertaining characters. I could listen to more books on these characters. When Steven Weber started reading I thought... this is going to be good. The voice from IT. At the end of the book, I decided to look up who this reader is... Stephen Weber... had not connected the dots that he is the actor is so many shows and movies... love this actor and would love to find more books he narrates. This listen was well worth my credit.

Narration terrible!
Reviewed: 08-18-19
I love Charlaine Harris, I have faithfully listened to 4 of her book series. So, I was super excited to listen to this latest book. I could not get past the 1st or 2nd chapter. While Eva Kaminsky’s voice was fine, her narration sounded like she was constantly reading a police report. Or giving a point for point account to the someone. She was not telling a story. It was huge disappointment and I had to return this book.

On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that's going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he's sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché.

Where was Kristen Bell?
Reviewed: 03-21-19
It was hard to like this book at first. I picked this up right after listening to the prior book, Million Dollar tan line, it was read by Kristen Bell. The narrator in this book, Mr. Kiss and Tell was okay, not a lot of excitement in her voice... kind of boring and dry. But as the book progressed I got used to it. The story was interesting and the mystery kept me wanting to find out whodunnit.
I enjoyed these books, the firstborn better because of the reader. Bring back Kristen Bell. I have never watched this show or seen the movie, but after listening to these two books I am compelled to check them out. I like Veronica Mars character.
