About this listen

What would you do if you found a spaceship? Would you call the government, would you pretend you never saw it, or would you keep it a secret? What would you do with it? Use it to gallivant around the galaxy, conquer Earth, get filthy rich, or try to improve life on Earth? Listen along and find out how Marc works to convert Earth into a spacefaring world capable of defending itself and of being united as it meets the other civilizations in the galaxy. He and his brother start planning their next steps, but the one they don’t know how to prepare for is the arrival of Marc’s 12-year-old daughter. She comes to spend the summer with her father. She’s very smart and extremely curious.

Marc and his crew need to accomplish all this without tipping off the US government and before the Paraxeans come looking for their spaceship. But they have help, the ship’s AI is on their side, and she’s smart.

Starship Sakira is the first book in the exciting new adventure series Delphi in Space.

Needs a narrator

The story is an enjoyable light read for most sci-fy fans. However, the author needs to find a narrator who actually knows how to do the job. I’m usually more forgiving of narrators than this, but she sounds worse then a 10 year old reading Dr Souse. All the characters have the exact same voice. The only accent tried (and utterly failed at) was the Russian spy in book 2, all others use a Canadian/central northwestern accent... even though they are in Hawaii, Portugal, Florida, the Caribbean, and the Cook Islands. Oh, and the main characters are from Boston, one of the more distinctive accents in the US. Often, never mind differentiating between characters, there is no difference between dialogue and narration.

A great start in this series.

A very calm sounding AI computer. A very careful Capton and his brother. The starship is well armed with wepons and knowledge. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Great Start B.

It's a good story, but the reader needs to change her acting voice a lot more. The AI is getting more human so less computer. Overall though it's a good good start. Can't wait for Delph City.

Excellent Book!

Really enjoyed this book and have even read it over a few times. The narrator did a good job of making slight differences to the voices, enough to distinguish who’s talking. Story was great, varied and interesting. Loved it!

Love the story

What a fun adventure. From start to finish a fast paced story that kept my attention and interest. I would highly recommend it.

Narrator-Monotone

The story may be good, I don’t know. I couldn’t listen for very long. The narrator is hard to listen to. Save your credit!

Pure enjoyment.

Not what I expected but I was hooked immediately. I liked all the characters. The narrator's performance was especially good and her voice was soothing. I'm getting the next book in the series.

A fun idea

This book is my jam. It asks and answers the question of "what would you do if you found an alien spaceship".
It only really has one major flaw. It needs some sort of chapter or perspective break/transition as the current lack is a bit jarring.

A good story despite its flaws.

The story invites you to listen to the next chapter and each book hooks you into wanting more.
Main flaws are 1. many sub-topics are introduced, but not developed; 2. Narration is weak.
I could hope for a tighter story, but still, I'm willing to spend my money for the next book

One reviewer lamented "Child Drug Use". Clearly a celebratory demi-verre of wine or finger of scotch could be called "Drug Use". My culture does not.

Great book, narration is…..

This is an amazing book series that is almost ruined by the narrator. Mikael Naramore would have been a better choice!
