About this listen

This steamy thriller is a New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly best-seller.

Caitlyn Montgomery Bandeaux wakes one morning drenched in blood, her head pounding mercilessly. Worst of all, she can't remember what happened the night before - when her estranged husband was murdered. Now the police want answers. Tormented, Caitlyn turns to her sister for support and is warned not to talk to the handsome new psychologist in town. But she soon realizes he's the only person she's comfortable confiding in.

Oh, God!

I REALLY loved the plot of this book. Loved the twists and turns, the suspense. Everything EXCEPT the main character. I know after finishing the book that she was portrayed as being so weak for a reason, but omg did she make me want to slap her. Between that and the overdone use of her phrase “Oh God”, I had to knock a star of this book. I’d be all into it and then she’d “Oh God” and all I’d feel is rage. 😆

The Night Before

Decent story, maybe a little predictable at times. Although the performance was spot on, I think I might have enjoyed reading it rather than listening to it

Juicy Family Secrets!!

Great book overall. Rich family with very dark and interesting secrets, an excellent creepy as hell villain and two bantering cops made for a page turner. I didn’t love the problematic romance (you’ll know it when you get to it) or the way the narrator said “adam” or “hannah”. The book also was about 150 pages too long with some repetitive parts and too much detail in places. The narrator gave a wonderful theatrical performance and the plot twists were almost unguessable. Highly recommend for thriller lovers.

Horrible narration

Good story with lots of suspense, but the narration was horrible. Too clipped and precise. For a story set in the South, Savanah no less, there was not a hint of a southern drawl. There was not any real emotion stirred by the performance. Listening to a good narrator is like seeing a great movie in my head. This was definitely not a blockbuster.

Multiple personalities

I was intrigued with the story. Never expecting to realized one of her siblings was responsible. I’m glad Katelyn wasn’t guilty. Made for a thrilling read at the end with a happy ending.i love books that keep me on the edge of my seat.

Proper Murder Mystery

Some of the recording could have been handled better, as breaks in the story immediately jump to the next scene which is a bit jarring.

Other than that minor issue, the narration is well done, the characters are interesting and detailed, and the story is a proper murder mystery. It lets you think you know what's going on again and again, but there's always one more twist. Definitely worth the listen.

I stopped listening. I tried many times to get into the story but it was too slow and I didn't like the narration. I gave up.
