About this listen

The first three books in the Traveler series in one bundle!

Book One: Home

He thought he was prepared. He thought his family was safe. He was wrong.

Five years after a pneumonic plague killed two-thirds of the world’s population, army veteran Marcus Battle is isolated. He’s alone with his guns, his food, and the graves of his wife and child.

Unaware of the chaos that’s befallen everything outside of his central Texas ranch land, Marcus lives a Spartan life. If anyone steps onto his property he shoots first and never ask questions.

But when a woman in distress, chased by marauders, seeks asylum, Marcus has a decision to make.

Does he throw her to the wolves to protect himself, or does he help her and leave the shelter and protection of home?

Book Two: Canyon

He’s homeless. He’s on the run. and he wants revenge.

Marcus Battle has left behind his home.

Now he’s on a seemingly impossible mission to find a missing child. But can he balance that responsibility with his deep, primal desire to exact revenge on the men who destroyed his solitary existence?

The world he discovers on his journey isn’t the one he remembers before a pneumonic plague called the Scourge killed two-thirds of the world’s population. It is lawless, depraved, and far deadlier than the disease which created it.

Battle made a promise to find that child. It’s a promise he regrets more acutely with every step of the journey where he is as much the hunter as he is the hunted.

Book Three: Wall

He survived the scourge. He escaped the cartel. Now he faces the wall.

In the chaos of a global plague, evil took hold. Governments fell, the good became servants, and the Cartel rose to power.

A wall was built to contain the wasteland and keep the evil at bay. Now an organized resistance wants change. They're willing to fight for it and they've asked Marcus Battle to help.

The last thing Battle wants is another war. But if that's what it takes to gain freedom and safe passage to the other side of the wall, he'll take aim and fire.

Scary possibilities

These are the fourth to sixth books I’ve read/listened to by this author and these did not disappoint. I got these purely because I enjoyed the previous books so much. His Alt Apocalypse Series is wonderful. He has a great knack for writing believable scenarios and characters.
This trilogy follows Marcus Battle. Alone on his ranch, he’s unaware of what has happened to the rest of the country since he kills anyone who steps on his land. Finally, his survival instincts take a back seat as he allows a woman (being pursued by killers) to not only live, but he helps her. His solitude is no longer a secret, and the men who were chasing this woman belonged to the cartel that runs this section of the former USA. They’re not happy he’s avoided their notice. Add to that, he agrees to help find this woman’s son who has been captured by the cartel. Leaving his land for the first time in many years, he runs into more than just the cartel. They’re not the only ones attempting to control this area. Then there’s the wall. What and who is on the other side? Is it better or worse?

This is the ninth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Kevin Pierce ) and I would gladly listen to another. His tone, cadence and style lends perfectly to the post apocalyptic tales. I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve listened to by him. He gives each character a personality and does female voices well.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or excessive swearing. This version of society is too close to being possible. Scary.

Worth the time

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this series. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The story draws you in, you find yourself in the story along with the characters. Kevin Pierce narrating is fantastic as usual, he never fails to entertain. Will definitely be reading/listening to more by the author and narrator.

Not a story for the faint of heart

Good apocalyptic story that is feasibly possible.
Narrator has excellent style of voice for this type of story.
Military information was given with accuracy. Geographic information was given in a way that makes you feel like “you are there”.
Story had an ending that is well done.
I was given this audiobook for free and I freely give it my rating and recommendation
I recommend this story to ages 18 and older due to violence and descriptive death and bloodshed

Very excited for the rest

What started out as a prepper story evolved into so much more over the three books. The world building and characters were very well done. I really liked how the story flowed and grew as it went along. Kevin Pierce did a very good job of adding life to the characters and keeping you involved. I received a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.

The very I've read yet

Not as preachy as most. Primarily just a good action tale. First I've read that wasn't EMP based. And does provide a few survival hacks as well.

One of the Best Listens on Audible

WOW!! No f-words, or swearing in general. No excessive violence. But a most realistic and compelling dystopian world. I've listened to a LOT of books and this PA story is the absolute best of the best. And all too realistic these days. Tom Abrahams creates a dystopian world where man is both in disastrous peril, but still has genuine heart. Proof of that is Marcus Battle, one of the best PA characters there is. He's developed in such a way, where his guardedness is so well understood and defined. But underneath his loner exterior is a man who's haunted by his painful past, but is coming through it.

What Abrahams does so well is create. a world where cartels and evil men rule over people in the land, but completely without the need to use explicit language and violence. This rarely if ever happens. That shows his true gift as an author, and how much he puts into this. He doesn't need filler to create a gritty, believable world. It's truly incredible. And combined with the unparalleled PA narrator Kevin Pierce, you've got the best of everything. This truly couldn't be a better listen. I don't want this to end. Thank you Tom Abrahams, Kevin Pierce, and most importantly for audiobooks, Audible!!

Action packed!

Narrator: great
Story line: great, a little light on detail but makes up for it with the pace of the book(s). Listened to the first 3 in just over a week. Battle is a badass!

Intense Drama with unpredictable endings! It'll make sense later!

The flow of Battle's journey was intense and wavy. I was actually impressed and surprised by the way it ended. Bravo! I will be searching for more.
