I really enjoy Lucindas writing and stories. Its a shame such a wonderful talent is no longer with us.
This story had you guessing until the end and had plenty of emotional range for the listener. The story was also well narrated.

Gripping till the end
Reviewed: 09-10-2022
Rosamond Pike narrated this book and book 1 very very well. She has enhanced the story even more if that's possible. I have two choices now, 1. wait for her to narrate book 3 or listen to the previously narrated books by a significantly less talented narrator who's voice grates on me. I really want to continue the story but don't know I can endure the current narrator. it's a delema.

loved this book though I felt I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. I felt for the characters needing a reprieve at times. I needed a breather. There where sections however I was confused as to what was what. There's a lot of names and some characters with more than one name it's hard to remember who's who at times.

I enjoyed this story it was well written, good paced story and well narrated.
The story of domestic and family violence told in this story brings a little more understanding to how people get into these situations as well as being thought provoking on what is not acceptable behaviour but being younger we may not necessarily realise this.

I very much enjoyed this book even though the story is a sad tale. Well written and well narrated. It was a great insight into the trials and tribulations of a refugees struggle to find a place of safety and hope for a better life from the destruction of somewhere they once loved and their home.

The narrator has done well considering the many characters in the story.
