I enjoyed this story, although some of it was a bit far-fetched LOL. The publishers summary has been written by someone who has obviously not read or listened to the book. It's completely incorrect. I hope someone will fix it.

I did finish it, however it dragged a lot. Weak ending and the character of the town Mayor was absolutely ridiculous. The background sounds of the bush and birds were nicely done though!

I very much enjoyed this book! Some may find it slow and uneventful, but the characters are terrific, eccentric, unpredictable at times. I think deep down this is a story of an abusive and selfish mother who has not prepared her children to live in the real world and the terrible situation two grown siblings find themselves in when she is gone.

Story
A creature of routine and decorum, Mrs March lives an exquisitely controlled existence on the Upper East Side. Every morning begins the same way, with a visit to her favourite patisserie to buy a loaf of olive bread, but her latest trip proves to be her last when she suffers an indignity from which she may never recover: an assumption by the shopkeeper that the protagonist in George March’s new book - a pathetic sex worker, more a figure of derision than desire - is based on Mrs March.

This is a sad story. Mrs March trying to live a normal life whilst her mental health is disintegrating. I didn't think I would finish this one, but it is strangely compelling and I was surprised to find myself wanting to re-engage with her whenever I took a break from listening.

Such a sad story, Poor little Punzel - completely helpless in a world where the adults in her life should have protected her, not one of them had her back. Disturbing in many ways, but I have to say I couldn't stop listening. Very good narrator too.

Story
Multi-award-winning storyteller Sarah Kendall brings her critically acclaimed, funny and moving live shows to audio. In the first trilogy of shows, each takes us on a trip, giving us a unique snapshot of small-town life in Australia in the late '80s and early '90s. At a time when most people were seeing Australians through the filter of Home and Away and Neighbours, Sarah presents a darker underbelly to the stereotype of the sun-loving, happy-go-lucky Aussie teenager.

This book gave me goosebumps! It's a really creepy story - don't listen at night in bed like I did!!! It prompted me to watch the movie (the old 1980's version) which is also genuinely unsettling.

Story
Kris Marshall and Katherine Jakeways star as Mr & Mrs Pepys in this BBC Radio 4 dramatisation of the world famous diaries. Samuel Pepys was 26 when he decided to start keeping a diary, in January 1660. For the next 10 years he faithfully recorded the day's events and confessed his innermost thoughts. That diary has since become one of our most important, and fascinating, historical documents. Pepys gave us eyewitness accounts of some of the great events of the 17th century, including the Great Fire of London and the Second Dutch War.

This is a fantastic dramatisation, enjoyed every minute - it's really well done. I was so sad when it was finished, I looked forward to each new diary entry to see what would happen next to Sam, Lizzy and their friends and family. It really shows how nothing changes, the people in 1660's London had the same problems and issues, feelings and joys that we have today. My only tiny criticism would be that the song used does get tedious as it is used throughout the entire performance whenever music is called for as well as to seperate the chapters and the chapters are quite short!! But that is worth overlooking. One of the best audiobooks I've listened to.
