Story
Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job. Death is the Grim Reaper of the Discworld, a black-robed skeleton with a scythe who ushers souls into the next world. He is also fond of cats and endlessly baffled by humanity. Soon Death is yearning to experience what humanity really has to offer, but to do that, he'll need to hire some help. It's an offer Mort can't refuse. As Death's apprentice he'll have free board, use of the company horse—and being dead isn't compulsory. It's a dream job—until Mort falls in love with Death's daughter, Ysabell.

if you are reading this, then chances are you have already either read More or listened to one of the older audio books. I highly recommend this version, the voice actors are brilliant and truly do it justice.

Story
Yumiko Kadota was a young, gifted medical student - the top of her class - on her way to becoming an outstanding plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Fourteen years she'd studied and worked hard. She put in 70-hour weeks at the public hospital as a plastic surgery registrar, accepted everything her superiors threw at her because that's what you do to get on, right? Her life revolved around her work, but it was okay because it would all amount to a stellar, dream career down the track. In 2018, she walked away from it all.

A story everyone needs to hear!

This is the type of book a Sci-Fi nerd like myself would never normally listen to, however, I am so glad I did.
The authors story is one a lot of us can relate to, you don't need to be in the medical field to understand.
There are a lot of things that systemically need to be addressed in many modern workplaces, and whilst we can't always get the changes over night, books like this can encourage us to either speak out against how we are being treated, or in my case, make me more aware of how I may be treating co-workers and people around me.
5 out 5 would recommend!

Story
A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), The Stranger Times is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable. At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor...well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.

I gave this audio book a go, simply because I saw an online review comparing the author's style to that of the late Sir Terry Pratchett.
I was not disappointed, never will an author be like Sir Terry, but this author i believe is in the same league.
The story was original, the characters were relatable, story kept its pace through out the entire book.
Whilst is was never a suspenseful 'whodunit' novel, it was incredibly enjoyable and I await the next book eagerly.

Story
Alvin woke in a room that was not his, to discover that he had died and his brain had been bargained off cheaply to pay off someone else’s debt. It did not sit well with him. It didn’t surprise him that even in death, people were still using him for their own purposes. He had never exactly been a good guy, but everyone had their breaking point, and he had found his. The bastards in charge had uploaded his mind into a virtual death game. The whole world could now pay to see him play it and probably die. Regardless, he was not about to wait for death to come for him.

I liked this story, the idea is amazing and it had me hooked.. but like many books in this genre its saturated with graphic sex scenes.. we get it, the characters like to shag, and the author obviously likes to explain it in detail. I was going to get the next books in the series, but reviews tell me it just gets worse with too much padding the story out with descriptions of "rock hard shafts, lining the inner walls off lady parts"

Story
Ryker only had one goal in his life right now: Turn a certain adventuring guild into a flaming wreck while dancing merrily through the smoldering ruins. All for the chance to get back at a handful of people. It didn’t work out that way though. At all. He’d become the Count of Dungeon, made a hostage, married off to the false queen’s daughter against his will, and had his county made ground zero for a religious war. To top all that off, the Dark Lord of the North wants to see Ryker personally.

I like this author.. I really do, I have listened to the other audio books available. Firstly let me say, the story is creative, the characters are relatable and narrative is quite good... however.. I found myself cringing and turned it off quite a few times, purely because of the bad sexual content.. I know I know.. there is a warning for it in the description.. but what they didnt warn I'd that it's like a 12 year old has attempted to write a 50 shades of grey aimed at teenage boys.. it's bad.. like really bad.. if you can ignore that stuff, then it's a good book.. but damn, it was a struggle.

Who would have thought?!?

I'll admit, I was attracted to the book by the cover.. I thought "hey that reminds me of the video game for Terry Pratchett's Discworld" so I clicked with a small glimmer of hope.
After reading the provided blurb I thought "ok that's a pretty cool idea for a story.. seriously how has this not already been a thing" so with a long commute ahead of me I figured this story will do and if it gets boring I can just listen to some music for a while and come back to it.
Well I didn't even come close to shutting it off until I actually had to!
The story is an original one, the characters are all relatable, the narrator does a great job at keeping you interested with a different range of voices (except for one, which I'll forgive.. it's not a New York accent.. you'll know which one..), the nod to pop culture and games we played as kids referenced by the characters easily builds a visual of the story and the fact that the people in this story really are doing what most of us would do if fortunate enough to be in the same situation is very relatable!
In short.. buy the audio book.. listen to it.. and enjoy.. I did and I'm about to start the second in the series.

Story
Zombies in North London, death cults in the West Country, the engineering deck of the Enterprise: actor, comedian, writer, and self-proclaimed supergeek Simon Pegg has been ploughing some bizarre furrows in recent times. Having blasted on to the small screen in the gut-busting and now legendary sitcom Spaced, his enduring appeal and rise to nation’s-favourite-son status has been mercurial, meteoric, megatronic, but mostly just plain great.

This biography is definitely one of a kind.. Well.. Assuming pegg hasn't taken some one else's life story and published it anyway..
To hear the story of how pegg got to be the person he is now and the professional and personal things that shaped him is interesting and entertaining.
Coupled into the story line is the fictional simon pegg with a robot butler. Who has many adventures spliced into the story. They are most amusing and I admit I would like to see a book based solely on the fictional playboy pegg.
Having been read by the author this audiobook leaps to another level with pegg's knack for theatrics and voices really driving a great story.
