Story
Everyone in Athena, Mississippi, knows Charlie Harris, the good-natured librarian with a rescued Maine coon cat named Diesel that he walks on a leash. He's returned to his hometown to immerse himself in books, but soon enough he's entangled in a real-life thriller. A famous author of gory bestsellers and a former classmate of Charlie's, Godfrey Priest may be the pride of Athena, but Charlie remembers him as an arrogant, manipulative jerk—and he's not the only one. Godfrey's homecoming as a distinguished alumnus couldn't possibly go worse: by lunch, he's put a man in the hospital.

The carnivore diet is surging in popularity. And while its contrarian tenets may fly in the face of conventional nutritional recommendations, millions of people, and emerging research, are showing it to be a healing nutritional template, when done correctly. In this accessible guide, board-certified holistic nutritionist Judy Cho covers the “why” of carnivore eating with well-referenced scientific information on the pitfalls of modern plant-based diets and how animal-based eating can support health, disease amelioration, and, contrary to popular belief, nutrient density.

I bought this book to have on hand to lend to people who are carnivore curious or even just concerned about my choices. I can see it is going to help a lot to make this a viable option to people struggling with their health and failing to find relief with more mainstream approaches. Thank you for your work Judy. Much appreciated.

I admire the courage and tenacity of Masters and McKenzie and all those who came forth to testify. The fallout of the revelations of this investigation and trial will be with us for a long time.

Story
Thanks to environmental pollutants, iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic. Everybody knows pollutants cause cancer. What they don't know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick, fat, and stupid. Iodized salt - supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency - is actually a nutritional scam that provides a false sense of security. The Iodine Crisis explains how we became so deficient, then shows the time-tested solution to reversing many conditions.

I just wanted the solution but the first three chapters were quite an excursion into what has been done to women’s bodies in the last 150 years by surgeons and pharma. Quite outrageous. Loved the explanation of what our bodies need in chap 4&5. Thank you Dr Bright. I’m still in 1st weeks of high fat animal products only and my body is struggling to adapt so reading this has inspired me to keep going. Highly recommend

Story was clunky and silly - the three ‘club’ members prob did a lot of damage to the police enquiry with their interference.
The writing was odd - eg old lady ‘grinning’ as she slips naked into the river for a swim and many more such oddities.
However I kept listening for the narrators voice and mildly enjoyed the story as a result.

It's the following Thursday. Elizabeth has received a letter from an old colleague, a man with whom she has a long history. He's made a big mistake, and he needs her help. His story involves stolen diamonds, a violent mobster and a very real threat to his life. As bodies start piling up, Elizabeth enlists Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron in the hunt for a ruthless murderer. And if they find the diamonds, too? Well, wouldn't that be a bonus? But this time, they are up against an enemy who wouldn't bat an eyelid at knocking off four septuagenarians.
