It's not every afternoon that an enigmatic, comely blonde named Stilton (like the cheese) walks into the scruffy gin joint where Sammy "Two Toes" Tiffin tends bar. It's love at first sight, but before Sammy can make his move, an air force general named Remy arrives with some urgent business. 'Cause when you need something done, Sammy is the guy to go to; he's got the connections on the street.

there's a whole lot of good and religion in it, and the authors use a lot of biblical principals in a way that seems quite judgemental to an atheist like myself.

All three stories within the story were compelling and intriguing but if I'm honest, the revelation and resolution was a little bit over the top for me. Still, a fun listen with great narration.

So frustrated
Reviewed: 20-11-2024
I do love this series, even though Stephanie is frustratingly ridiculous and increasingly annoying with her general incompetence. Obviously we don't find out who she married until the end, and frankly, I think she made the wrong decision, and it makes me kind of angry. But whatever.

Story
Alan Rickman remains one of the most beloved actors of all time across almost every genre, from his breakout role as Die Hard's villainous Hans Gruber to his heart-wrenching run as Professor Severus Snape, and beyond. But Rickman's artistry wasn't confined to just his performances. Fans of memoirs at large will delight in the intimate experience of Rickman detailing the extraordinary and the ordinary in a way that is 'anecdotal, indiscreet, witty, gossipy and utterly candid'.

Incredibly dull, so disappointing
Reviewed: 31-07-2024
I have to imagine that this was written by someone tagging along on Alan's adventures, because accepting that this is his actual life is utterly depressing. All he does is complain about people, projects and situations. It's all wake up times, flights, restaurants, food and name dropping. There is little joy in what he does, and little affection shown towards his wife or friends. He doesn't seem to enjoy making movies at all, the only time he expresses delight is when watching others at the theatre. And he goes to a hell of a lot of funerals.
If you want insights into his films and costars or fun behind the scenes stories, you will not get them here.

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

I don't get the hype
Reviewed: 18-06-2024
I listen to this over the last 4 days while sitting by my sons hospital bed. honestly, I don't get the hype.
The story was ridiculously convoluted, dragged on in some places while skipping action that would have been actually interesting. there were chunks of exposition that just droned on and on for for minutes at a time, and then you get to what I thought was the finale only for it to have hours left, as apparently there are multiple tasks to perform and a riddle to solve (the solution to which was obvious and totally on the nose), with the cliched "searching her memory for information previously revealed that she didn't realise the significance of".
I couldn't wait for it to end. utter drivel. but I know I'm in the minority so I'll just move on to something worth listening to. glad it was free this month, and I didn't waste a credit on it.
