A story boldly told
Reviewed: 23-06-2024
The holocaust shared by each individual in this story of devotion and pain, reignited a story of my own.
I too, was subjected to a psychological foundation of dictatorship.
When alas, my courage finally gave out, I allowed 'them' to sweep me into the culvert.
I remain here ~ forgotten.
Courage came and went with these individuals, and I ached for them to be believed.

Story
Kyran Harbor is everything I'm not. Rich. Popular. A superstar football player who's awfully broody for someone who has it all. Basically, he's a preppy jock who hates me. Oh, and he's also my stepbrother. That's right. We're stuck together, sharing a school, a house, a bathroom. Honestly I wouldn't care if he wasn't such an uptight control freak who messes with me just because we're different. I had every intention of avoiding him when we got to college. Until abrupt misfortune forces us both into a compromising position.

I had no idea this book was for the LGBTQ community, as it wasn't made clear in the reviews.
To put put the sexual encounters of these two students into book form, disgusted me.

Travelling in the north of Australia, I came across some of these communities, while walking in the raging heat.
Stopping to talk to some of the locals, from five to seventy year olds, I have carried their stories with me for years.
This writer adds to my experience with so much detail.
I am now ashamed to call myself Australian.

Story
Bronte Mettlestone's parents ran away to have adventures when she was a baby, leaving her to be raised by her aunt Isabelle and the Butler. She's had a perfectly pleasant childhood of afternoon teas and riding lessons - and no adventures, thank you very much. But Bronte's parents have left extremely detailed (and bossy) instructions for Bronte in their will. The instructions must be followed to the letter, or disaster will befall Bronte's home. She is to travel the kingdoms and empires, perfectly alone, delivering special gifts to her 10 other aunts.

Silly beyond words
Reviewed: 08-01-2024
I bought this on Audible, having read reviews, stating it was delightful. The story was another version of "The Yellow Brick Road", without the wizard.
In my opinio, the journey the child needed to take, was silly, and pointles.
I gave up after eight chapters.

Story
Police Chief Nash Morgan is known for two things: Being a good guy and the way his uniform accentuates his butt. Two bullets put a dent in that Southern charm but—thankfully—spared his spectacular rear end. He’s got his hands full with the man who shot him still on the loose, healing wounds, and citizens who think of the law as more of a “guideline”. Throw in the gloomy mood that clings to him, and the last thing he needs is a smart-mouthed, gorgeous new neighbor making him feel things he doesn’t have the energy to feel.

Enjoyed the storyline until about half way through.
Then the constant use of crude descriptions of male genitalia, and sexual expression, became too off-putting to continue.

I read the reviews for this book, and was encouraged to purchase it on Audible,
In my opinion, the narrators voice was slow, and her take off of the characters was poor.
The story went from one stroke of good luck event to the next to the very last.
It was neither a sad, funny or inspiring listen for me.
I won't be buying any more of this author or narrators books.

Story
Known as the ‘four horsemen’ of New Atheism, these four big thinkers of the 21st century met only once. Their electrifying examination of ideas on this remarkable occasion was intense and wide-ranging. Everything that was said as they agreed and disagreed with one another, interrogated ideas and exchanged insights - about religion and atheism, science and sense - speaks with urgency to our present age.

Ego Trip
Reviewed: 11-10-2020
I kept asking myself what the purpose of the conversation was, and concluded that the whole time was spent as an egotistical exercise.
There was an absence of enquiry from each other, and nothing of substance was said.
It was a big disappointment for me, as I wanted to learn
from these experts.
