You get used to the narrator
Reviewed: 01-04-2024
At first I wasn’t loving the new narrator as I’d just listed to like 48 hours of someone else doing the characters.
But you get used to it if you persist and by the end I thought she’d done a great job!

Starts pretty slow, but gets good
Reviewed: 16-06-2023
This one starts real slow I feel like, lots of set up in the beginning. A good few hours before Reese is doing Reese.
Once it picks up though it was another great, high stakes action packed installation of the series.
Good stuff

The first 2.5 hours were a bit dull and it felt like it was ruining all the good they did with the characters in the first book. But once the first shard is collected it really kicks off!!
This was as good, if not better than the first book!

If you’re expecting the book to be like the movie you’ll be disappointed... BUT the differences are huge and great! You get to live through the same amazing story with the same great characters but with new and exciting events.
P.S. the last half of the book is intense and so much better!

Another fantastic performance from Jocko and Leif.

"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." Story
In Everthing Is F*cked, Mark Manson turns his gaze from the inevitable flaws within each individual self to the endless calamities taking place in the world around us. Drawing from the pool of psychological research on these topics, as well as the timeless wisdom of philosophers such as Plato, Nietzsche, and Tom Waits, he dissects religion and politics and the uncomfortable ways they have come to resemble one another. He looks at our relationships with money, entertainment, and the internet, and how too much of a good thing can psychologically eat us alive.

However I found myself comparing it to 'The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck' and the performance of the voice actor in that, as I really enjoyed it. Once I got over the comparison though I found some great insights and really ended up enjoying m
Marks performance.
I loved it and would most definitely recommend this book.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.
