Don't bother purchasing this book if you have already been watching Mr Ballen YouTube channel... No new story...

There are definitely some refreshing, thought-provoking and eye-opening ideas, but there are parts where the value was very subjective to the author but put forward in a matter-of-fact way... which is not good... I certainly didn't appreciate the heavy religious tone and judgement. Towards the end, it's outright culty... which is rather disturbing, to be honest...

A disappointment following the first 2 books

Very disappointing after listening to the first two books... This one is so... wishy-washy... Not only it's very generic, but also halfway it turned into a parental book, which is weird... Then it turned into a generic self-help book that almost feels irrelevant to EI parents theme... It did come back to the topic and was helpful towards the end of the book, but still rather generic...

The book exceeded my expectations by miles! The first book was already mind-blowing, but I never would have imagined the sequel would be even better! The author literally provided a list of actual sentences that you can say in different scenarios, which is more than helpful. I've been on this self-healing journey for sometime, and I understand the idea the jist of setting boundaries etc, but, how? I literally don't have any tools to deploy. This books provides the "how". I'm gonna buy the hard copy and photo copy the lines most relevant to me and review daily to train myself...

Brainwash for traditional housewives

You could gather pretty quickly that the book is targeted at housewives who are expected to "be a homemaker""for the family", "keep the house sparkly clean" and "take care of my children and my husband". As a single household, what I want is to be inspired to want to keep the house FOR MYSELF as self care and preciously NOT for others. Sure, I thought I could look pass the very first sentence of the whole book, "I love keep house for my family", and caltivate a sense of pride in housekeeping, as promised in the foreword. But when "I love taking care of my husband" or whatever on that line came out, I was like, pause, I'm out. The wife is not the maide, not a babysitter,, and every adult should have the basic skills to look after themselves, as much as their ability allows, regardless of their gender. Kudos to women who chose to be housewives, that's fantastic if that makes you happy. But if you struggle and need a man whisper in your ears for 40mins in order to feel motivated to do chores, maybe the choice does not play into your strengths okay I'm just saying. Oh, and the fact that it is read by a man, just the cherry on this... brainwash cake... Nope.

I love this book in general! there are bits that I may not completely agree with Brian, but overall very inspiring. I am going to take a few advices from the book, such as writing down personal mission statement.

love this production overall, please continue making this series! The only pity is that many comedians chose to do the same material as they did in the Melbourne Comedy Festival earlier in March/April. So maybe if the production select different set of comedians would avoid such repetition.
