Maybe not for me

To the book: My other half has read this book so many times, he can quote it by heart. I haven't read a fantasy based on D&D before and I struggled to become invested in the giant cast of characters.
The book is well written and if dwarves and elves are your thing, you'll probably thoroughly enjoy this. It wasn't really my cup of tea, if I read fantasy novels, I prefer to have one toe still in semi-reality as I know it.

To the Narration: Not great. Constant emphasis on phrases and words out of the context of the writing made it a hard listen. The characterisations of the players by the narrator were good, but the weird pace of the reading means I won't be in a hurry to purchase another book read by this narrator.

After being a true crime podcast fan for years now, this was my first ever audiobook and I loved it.

Angela's story is gritty and raw and her writing really sucks you in to make you feel the things that she felt in this time of her life which can be a pretty uncomfortable feeling at times.

Julie Bilington did a great job with bringing the book to life.

Written well enough and the narrator was very good, easy to listen to but the story wasn't terribly original.
