Great War Story!

Well written and performed story that does not out stay its welcome. A great perspective on the mortal S2D warriors and thier journey within a Chaos society. From a small intimate story to a wider portrait of large scale War in the Mortal Realms this book successfully translates characters, units and game play elements of Age of Sigmar into a thrilling tale.

The Siege of Excelsis is over at last, and the survivors count the costs amidst the rubble of their city. Even for Galen and Doralia ven Denst, two of the most feared witch hunters in the Order of Azyr, the horrors they have witnessed are not so easily dismissed. Struggling with the traumas inflicted by the siege, Doralia's concerns only grow when her father disappears into the wilds of Ghur. As she sets off on his trail, Doralia begins to suspect that Galen is hunting down a dark secret from their past - one that might hold the key to a new threat rising to engulf Excelsis.

One of the best AoS books!
Reviewed: 05-04-2022
This is definitely one of my favourite books set in the AoS universe. I find that A LOT of black library books rely heavily on fandom of the universe and deliver a mediocre plot and characters that, while serviceable, don't really impact the world much. Hallowed Ground is a big exception, really compelling characters, a tight and intriguing plot line with great world building from current AoS events.

The Mortal Realms come to life in this audio drama collection. Some of your favourite authors bring you tales of war and eternal struggle for control of the realms in full-cast recordings. The balance of power in the Mortal Realms is ever-shifting. Gods, men, monsters and all manner of magical beings vie for primacy in a whorl of violence and politics. Dive into the action and intrigue of Warhammer Age of Sigmar like never before with this collection of full-cast audio dramas written by Black Library stalwarts including David Annandale, Josh Reynolds, Guy Haley and more.

mostly told from the Stormcast perspective with a huge chuck of the front half dedicated to one campaign but some really interesting and fresh takes throughout. Great performance quality.

Story
In the fifth of his best-selling series Ben Aaronovitch takes Peter Grant out of whatever comfort zone he might have found and takes him out of London - to a small village in Herefordshire where the local police are reluctant to admit that there might be a supernatural element to the disappearance of some local children. But while you can take the London copper out of London you can't take the London out of the copper. Travelling west with Beverley Brook, Peter soon finds himself caught up in a deep mystery and having to tackle local cops and local gods. And what's more all the shops are closed by 4pm....

Terrible voice acting
Reviewed: 12-04-2017
The voice acting in this one book in the series is incredibly distracting. I would recommend reading the paperback version if you can or reading a plot synopsis and skipping to the next book.
