A wonderful performance and well written conclusion to the epic story of the clock of stars. It addresses all of the storylines brought up by previous books and surprises anyone who tries to guess how things will end up. Shows and teaches great life lessons and gives wonderful examples of children AND adults maturing and becoming their best selves in situations anyone can relate to.

A great ending to a magical journey
Reviewed: 15-09-2022
This is an epic conclusion to the series. Lots of revelations, surprises and mostly happy endings.
There was less graphic description of romance and old fashioned, repressed (yet described in full) purity and hormonal angst, which was a relief as each book seemed to increase such talk over the previous. The author used a splendid vast range of adjectives and this made reading as informative for Parents reading as for children. The voice actor remains simply wonderous.

Another great instalment in a fun series

The story continues and doesn't disappoint in content or performance. The one small detail that I feel important to voice is the continued description of lusting and wanting between the protagonist and his girlfriend and similarly other relationships. It gets almost "Mills and Boon soft porn"like in some parts and personally I felt it detracted rather than added to the overall work but that IS my personal opinion and otherwise I loved every other element.

Truly a journey that absorbs the listener and together you progress and learn about really integral important things like relationships (friends, romantic partners, mentors or whichever form it takes), fear, understanding the situation/viewpoint of "the enemy" and MOST NOTABLY that good people do terrible things that you may not understand (not have context for), and compassion, listening and maintaining your integrity despite peer pressure or ease of not practicing beliefs just because no one would know.
Im now addicted and counting days till next book releases.
One slight thing that I noticed, though I presume hopefully will be addressed later, is the clearly discussed male/female roles and absence of LBGT consideration/inclusion so far.

The telling of the second generation of gard, the human gard alongside loved favorites like John Smith, number 8 and the once "rouge spy" now "true to the cause" loric gard. a refreshing tale of the internal struggling of people suddenly thrust into a new and not necessarily desirable life of the super powered. Kids that were forced to grow up instantly and treated as stock for trade by the powers that be. VERY easy to read and very good voice acting (esp all the accents!). Thank you

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

From beginning the first chapter of the previous story and more so, exponentially with each page, chapter and now book, you get drawn into and impassioned for the protagonist Morgan. I can't limit myself to the chapters I read to the kids... I spent all last night unable to stop till I finished. The author's enabling of story addiction is blatant and I am sure that people of all ages and stages will love Morgan and her journeys as intently as I have. Thank you... Also the voice actor on the audiobook was perfect. delightfully portraying of the different characters and neither rushed nor dull. I think a good portion of the reason I couldn't stop was how she was able to pass on to the listener, HER enjoyment and passion. 20/10 .... now for the next 馃槤馃グ馃お
