Town building, very powerful MC....and slice life
Reviewed: 26-11-2022
this is a town building audiobook, no LitRPG elements but does have a gamer feel, the main character is quite powerful bringing his knowledge to the kingdom but is an enjoyable and relaxing read

Story
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

A Litrpg adventure with science fiction & fantasy

Narraters: The voice actors are appropriate for their roles and do a fantastic job reading.
Story: This is a literal dungeon crawl adventure with um... interesting things added, outside politics, dungeon exploits like in a computer game and it's not just about surviving but being popular on reality TV. it's science fiction roleplaying as fantasy and it works really well.
Characters: The main character Carl is an everyday man who worked in the coast guard, worked out and was cheated on by his girlfriend. Too much more and there are spoilers
The secondary main character Princess Donut has actual character growth and is not just comic relief... although she is hilarious
I recommend the book. I recommend the audiobook. Closest similar book that I have read: Well World series, simply because of the mix of "magic" and technology

Story
The apocalypse will be televised! You know what’s worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Being stuck with her prize-winning show cat. And you know what’s worse than that? An alien invasion, the destruction of all man-made structures on Earth, and the systematic exploitation of all the survivors for a sadistic intergalactic game show. That’s what. Join Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive the end of the world—or just get to the next level—in a video game–like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon.

Story
Vainqueur Knightsbane is your average dragon: A giant, fire-breathing lizard who loves to take naps on his golden hoard, kidnap princesses for fun, and make the life of adventurers miserable. Vainqueur's only pleasure in life is to watch his treasure get bigger, one coin at a time. So when a would-be thief turned unwilling minion tells him about "classes", "levels", and "quests", Vainqueur wonders if maybe, just maybe, he should consider a career change. After all, why bother hunting monsters for free when you can get paid for it?

Story
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

The MC is a smart arse... it's awesome
Reviewed: 21-03-2021
LitRPG. World where everyone has the same rules for rank up (by training powers) but MC has it defined in game terms through a skill.
This is a very entertaining audiobook, the main character likes to mess with people in a brilliant sarcastic way, brings up issues of morals and is put to the test in a world of magic and danger.
