Story
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

very disappointing book
Reviewed: 08-02-2024
I don't think I've ever given a 1 star rating and i never thought this author would get my 1st one. I did not finish this book, i did get more than 5 hours into it . I found the narrator so hard to hear it was like she was whispering, the story line is not an original concept, there are also many things that should come with trigger warnings. I'm generally very disappointed in this book.

Story
Alaska, 1974. Untamed. Unpredictable. A story of a family in crisis struggling to survive at the edge of the world, it is also a story of young and enduring love. Cora Allbright and her husband, Ernt, a recently returned Vietnam veteran scarred by the war, uproot their 13-year-old daughter, Leni, to start a new life in Alaska. Utterly unprepared for the weather and the isolation, but welcomed by the close-knit community, they fight to build a home in this harsh, beautiful wilderness.

I paid for this book because Booktok said it was good. I disagree, I found it to just be wrong. she went from Virgin at 17 to with a few days she's done 3 men and was like a dog on heat. I just think the book showed no moral boundaries. i also thought the story was predictable, The typical bad boy wins. I really struggled with this book.

Story
What was it like? Living in that house. Maggie Holt is used to such questions. Twenty-five years ago, she and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into a rambling Victorian estate called Baneberry Hall. They spent three weeks there before fleeing in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a memoir called House of Horrors. His tale of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon. Now, Maggie has inherited Baneberry Hall after her father's death.
