Really enjoyed it

Really enjoyed the story but I was so distracted by the narrator saying "she says/he says" but saying "says" like daze, probably shouldn't but really irritated me and distracted from the story. I would probably avoid her narration in future, but that's just me. The story, characters etc of the actual novel were wonderful.

Love Jane Harper and this one didn't disappoint. Loved every bit of it. She weaves lives in to intricate stories that are still logical and not convoluted and hard to follow, as so many are. Narration was perfect. Was really sorry to have the series end!

Loved, loved, loved all of this. I am a Jane Harper fan and she didn't disappoint. The entire experience of the characters was real and very relatable.
Potential spoiler alert (though not really, but putting it separate just in case)
I was so shocked when I finished the book and heard the interview afterwards that Jane is English! Her writing is so intricately Australian that I was shocked, and stupidly disappointed!!! The narration was excellent as well. Loved it - and the twists and turns and ending was unexpected, but all loose ends tied up, which I love.

Everyone has a calling. His is murder. When a woman staggers, naked, from a river, she has no idea that she’s been saved from a killer. Laura Fell is horrified when she discovers her friend Gina’s suicide. Everton Bowe, a cop whose career is as dead as his marriage, is handed the case. Was it really suicide? Meanwhile, DC Helen Lake insists there are similarities between the traumatised river woman and the cold case of three missing women: the victims, she fears, of a serial killer. Is there a serial killer on the loose? If so, what is his motive?

Story
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

I don't know why but I didn't think I'd like this book but I loved it. Story engaging and kept me interested. Narration was also great. It was a bit hard to differentiate a few times between the people talking, but really that's trying hard to provide critical feedback. Wish it was a series :)
