Story
THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR) William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever. THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET) Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump.

Penny Reid writes on really good topics and I applaud her for that but the female narration is tedious and the Aussie accents are awful. The male narration works for me ….

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Finney: 1) She suffers from severe sarcastic syndrome, especially when she's unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her like Nico Manganiello, and 3) She knows how to knit.

The thing I like about Penny Reid’s books are that she takes tricky topics and addresses them. This one didn’t do it for me lots of holes in the script. And most importantly why have a single narrator when there is a male perspective.

Ava Archer misses her best childhood friend most especially during the month of April. Ask any tax attorney, it's a lonely, grueling time of year. Luckily, Ava has just received a surprising and delectably absurd offer from her posh doppelgänger at work. She must pretend to be the aforementioned posh co-worker for one night at an extremely fancy party; a party so fancy, there exists absolutely no chance anyone will recognize her or suspect her ruse. . .

But one evening, there’s someone else on her bench - Hunter. Tall, wry and infuriating: everything about him gets under Iris’s skin. Little does she know that he's about to upset more than just her routines...

I enjoyed this read and the characters BUT it is annoying when a story just stops often forcing you to buy another. I don’t know I just think it is disrespectful of the author’s readers. If an author wants respect for their craft they need to respect their readers.

This is a man with real potential. I’ve really enjoyed other Jennifer Cruise books with a strong emphasis on witty banter and quirky plots. This book was quite predictable and there was very little humour. Still if you enjoy a predictable who done it then this book is your jam.
