Story
Saffy is waiting to go into an important meeting when she receives a missed call and then a text message from her best friend, Leona: Please help...come now. Of course, she races to her friend’s house. But when she arrives, she notices something strange. This message was deleted. Leona answers the door, and insists everything's fine. She doesn't know anything about the message. Six hours later, Saffy gets a knock on the door. It's the police. They’ve found a body. And Saffy was the last one to see them alive.

Perhaps my expectations were not appropriate. The storyline wasn’t too bad but my goodness the main character was incredibly hard work, completely unrealistic behaviours.

A childhood spent moving around the world left Revelle Lee with an unusual gift—the ability to fluently speak 11 languages. Now, Revelle spends her days translating for witnesses, victims, and the accused across London crime scenes and courtrooms. It's a stressful job, though not as stressful as the process she is currently going through to adopt little boy, Elliot. She is determined to be the mother to him that she never had, and to make up for her own past mistakes.

I stopped about 3/4 in, the storyline was solid, but would have been better in the third person.

Story
1992. Eight respectable, upstanding people have been found dead across the US. These deaths look like accidents and don't appear to be connected. Until one body - the victim of a fatal fall from a hospital window - generates some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the Secretary of Defence, who promptly calls for an inter-agency task force to investigate. Jack Reacher is assigned as the Army's representative. Reacher may be an exceptional soldier, but sweeping other people's secrets under the carpet isn't part of his skill set.

This was my first Reacher audiobook. I found it difficult to get into a listening rhythm because the narration was so jarring. I stopped 30 odd minutes in.
